Overview

More
A very attractive small market town with plenty of independent shops and small cafes. A beautiful High Street with a lovely tree lined avenue and greens, and an abundance of historic buildings to gaze at including a fabulous 11th century church. Grab a ride on one of the steam trains from Tenterden Town Station and take in the lovely views of the unspoilt surrounding countryside as the train trundles down the track. The title "Tenterden, the Jewel of the Weald" is richly deserved. Free car parking in Bridewell Lane car park every Sunday and on Bank Holidays

Having lived in Tenterden for the last 13 years, the High Street is in decline. The wonderful independent businesses are being choked by high rents, inadequate parking and stationary traffic. How many charity shops is too many? Another 300+ houses are under construction and will...More

Took a wander along this characterful high street to check out the available restaurants. For a small town, there is a good selection of places to eat and by day some local and unusual shops to browse. Definitely a pleasant place to stay and visit.
