Small town with interesting history. This little museum gives you all the history you need to know about the little town. Scenic walk on the street too!

We recently popped into the museum in Tenterden to find out about the towns history..... I don't think I've been in the build since I was small (long time ago!) but I was presently surprised.... Plus points: 1. Kids go free and adults only have to pay £1.50 2. Lots of interesting artefacts and info about the town 3. Really... More

Having visited many small town museums in the past, and sadly often being somewhat disappointed, I popped in to Tenterden museum to kill a bit of time and was pleasantly surprised with just how interesting this museum was. There were a large amount of artefacts, well laid out with informative explanations as to what you were looking at. I found... More

Having some time to spare, we popped into the museum. As the only ones there, we had a good chat with the gentleman on the desk. Nice to have things explained in detail when needed. Always worth spending a few pounds to help these small places, and keeping local history going.

Interesting place to go if you don't want a ride on the train with the rest of your party, or its raining.

Called in on way to catch a bus back hoe. so in 20 minutes had to see what I could and suss out for a return visit. Of particular interest to me is the agricultural collection. If you can allow at least an hour to make it a worthwhile visit.

A nice little museum with very knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Although i am not from the area the local history was fascinating and made me look at the buildings in the town in a completely different way

Crammed with lots of local history it's a great place to visit. It's located on Station Road which spookily is just up from the Train Station, which runs on steam! The car park out the front is very small so you can't always guarantee a space at busy times

Tenterden has an interesting history and the museum does it justice well worth an hour or so. Some displays are permanent others are changing themes.
