My husband and I were bought a vineyard tour as a Christmas present so it was great to finally go! Our tour guide was Russell, and he made the tour interesting but also fun. He is very knowledgeable and explained the different types of vines we were seeing along with the history of Chapel Down and the whole process from vine to glass. The wine tasting itself was great fun and again very informative and we bought a large selection of wines in the shop afterwards following Russell's recommendations! Chapel Down is a beautiful and every member of staff was helpful and friendly. Ask for Russell as your guide!!!

My boyfriend surprised me with a trip here for my birthday as I am a big fan of Chapel Down wines. We went on the tour and then had tasting which was fantastic. Sarah, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour itself lasted around an hour and gave high level information about Chapel Down, winemaking and the general British wine making industry. It was inside and outside as a working vineyard there are people working at the same time. Then we went inside for the wine tasting experience which lasts around an hour where you learn about wine tasting and try 6 wines (3 sparkling and 3 non). I even found I liked the Kits Coty.Chardonnay which I never would have tried otherwise as I usually don’t like Chardonnay. There were 10 of us in the group which was a nice number as felt quite intimate. Then after this we spent around half hour in the shop including some time at the tasting bar served by Ben. Again he was very knowledgeable about the products. All of the staff were super friendly! In total wee we’re there around 2 1/2 hours but easily could have stayed longer and had another drink enjoying the grounds or even had a meal at their restaurant, The Swan. This is great value for money and if you like win then I would recommend a visit.

We did a wine tour on Saturday and it was great. The weather was glorious which added to the whole experience. Our tour guide Russell was brilliant. Full of interesting facts and funny as well. We would really recommend this tour. We were a party of four to celebrate by dad's birthday.

After waiting weeks for our eagerly anticipated vinyard tour, the day arrived, only for it to be absolutely chucking it down with rain ! Making our way there in a taxi (highly recommended) we were greeted by our tour guide, Ben , and no one else. A private tour - in the rain !
Conditions meant Ben had to improvise and all we can say is what a fabulous job he did. An obviously very passionate , knowledgable young man who clearly loved his job.
We had an amazing , fun time going through the various wines on offer to taste after an extremely informative tour detailing the processing of wine both historically and on site.
Finished off with an amazing lunch at the on site restaurant - we can honestly say what could have been a disappointing day, ended up being an amazing experience that we will never forget .

We visited Chapel Down last week and had a wonderful trip. When our tour guide said we'd be there 4.5 hours I thought, "What are we doing here for that amount of time?". We spent every one of those minutes enjoying the winery: the walks through their fields, a tour through their herb garden, and a wonderful lunch preceeded by a 1.5 hour explanation and wine tating extravaganza.

Great tour of the vineyard, our guide Russell was brilliant- very informative but information was delivered in a light hearted, jovial manner. The wines we tasted were superb, would thoroughly recommend the Chapel Down tour and tasting to anyone (over 18 😊)

Great tour guide, Liam, gave us the history of the wine, the vines and the tour of the winery with an educational (and fun) wine tasting afterwards. With lunch following, (and wine! to match the courses) this was a great day and we’ll recommended. The food at the Swan was amazing.

Brilliant vineyard tour - nice clear explanation of the processes for making Chapel Down sparky and still wines. Interesting and entertaining guide, Russell. And an unexpectedly generous tasting of six delicious wines!

Do any buses from any of the nearby train stations (Headcorn) go to chapel down on a Sunday.

I dont think so - best to get a train to Tenterden and then a cab as not very far - just a few miles down the lanes. Im sure Chapel Down could call a cab back for you or just take the card of the one you take there. Simples.

Is there a campsite nearby or is there a possibility of camping onsite to make the most of the wines & Restaurant in this lovely rural location without the need for a designated driver or taxi?
Hi
You can't camp on site I am afraid. Bodiam boating station is a lovely local site.

Hi there. Do you know if Uber is arriving to Chapel Down from the Tenterden (and vice versa)? We do plan to come on Sunday and unfortunately there is no bus service on Sunday, regular taxi fares are a bit too expensive for that short ride. Many thanks!

Hi I am afraid tenterden is too rural for Uber! Your best bet is a local tenterden taxis service. Many thanks

Pls can you tell me if the tour and Swan restaurant can be booked in advance together or must they be booked separately?
Thanks.

If you want more flexibility I would recommend booking separately. We do experiences which include lunch which is one booking but they are on selected dates.
If you would like to chat more or book a tour call 01580766111 and any member of staff will be able to help
Thanks
