Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Railway Children - Fantastic!
Right on my doorstep, a charming theatre, good variety of really reasonably priced drinks, full of quaint charm and ice cream in the interval... We’ve been a few times over the years and absolutely can’t recommend a trip to a show here highly enough. The Railway Children was absolutely brilliant - bravo.

The final performance of this play was an absolute triumph! Talented players, skilled direction and great backstage crew brought together a memorable and understandable working of Shakespeare's tragedy. Austere but clever staging and gender fluid casting raised the performance and we are lucky to have such a wonderful theatre on our doorstep.

Thank you for review, apologies for the late response. A Season Ticket is a great way to see all 8 Main House productions and to be sat in the same place for each show.

Been tonight to see the wonderful performance of Blackadder and what a delight it was. A marvellous very funny ensemble cast who breezed through their lines and made it look effortless. The lead actors were excellent in their characterisation of the much loved TV persona they were playing and were equally matched by the supporting actors doubling up into different roles using a variety of costumes and very funny accents.
The wardrobe department have certainly been busy creating great outfits. Great to see the Theatre full again. Take a Bow the Caxtons for a great finale to end 2022. Well Done All.

We went to see Jeeves and Wooster at the Caxton Theatre. The professional performance was hilarious and absorbing. Theatre staff were helpful and friendly and the bar well stocked. Seating was comfortable with space for your legs and there was a good view of the stage. I can't wait for our next visit.
There is a bus stop right outside the theatre and parking is also available nearby. We bought our tickets from the Fishing Heritage Centre and they are also available online.

Went to see Double Top last night and was laughing out loud at this comedy play about a ladies darts team. It was a fabulous ensemble cast of characters, all played brilliantly. Special mention must be made of Debbie Till who due to unforeseen circumstances joined the cast at the 11th hour as Chris and although working from a hand held script on set gave such a seamless performance it wasn’t really noticeable as there were no gaps or hesitation. Faultless performance - Well Done. When she appeared centre stage at the beginning of the play with her bosom hoiked up under her chin, the whole audience knew we were in for a laugh and the cast didn’t disappoint. There were lots of highlights the drunken ex husband, the dishevelled Cathy as well as the snooty opposition team player among them. The strobe lit fight scene near the end was very well done and choreographed to provide a superb comedy spectacle. Congratulate yourselves guys it was very good.

What a great little theatre, they have refurbished throughout during lockdown. It all adds to the experience.
Staff are very friendly and polite. The plays they put on are excellent.
The play we saw last night 11/9/21 was their best yet. The play was based on a local true story, the Fulstow Boys, it had humour, sadness and a very sobering message.
If anyone has the chance to see this play in the future, then I would thoroughly recommend it.
We attended with our friends who travel over from Lincoln for all the plays put on at the Caxton theatre.
The price you pay for a ticket is very good value for the entertainment on offer.

The Caxton Theatre has been beautifully restyled and is a ‘gem’ with a welcome and atmosphere that is both genuine and generous. The productions are excellent- better than many of the large scale ones we’ve seen with so much passion and dedication.
We would thoroughly recommend The Caxton Theatre and urge everyone to support their local theatres because if you don’t use them we may lose them!

Absolutely great show. Actors had several different roles to play. It was great fun and brilliantly directed. The great ideas for special effects were hilarious. Wish I could go again. The Cast in Players are all very talented.
