The Lion Theatre is a wonderful little venue in the centre of the town. Seating just 96 it’s an intimate space making you feel very close to the action on stage. Seats are comfortable and raked for the last few rows. Front of house staff are welcoming and friendly and local Dennetts ice cream is available during intervals. With online bookings you can also pre order your programme & ice cream.
We have just seen the latest production from Horncastle Theatre Company (Hospital & Hospitality), which was excellent. A series of one act plays combined to make a great evening out - lots of laughs but also some silence inducing emotional moments in the two monologues.
This company never fails to impress with the standard of their productions - whether it’s the performances themselves or stage setting. The group & its theatre are at the heart of their local community and consistently deliver great shows at a very reasonable price.

Could not praise this performance enough. For a small theatre, I was absolutely stunned by the production and the high standard of acting & dancing and the sets. It just goes to show the importance of community theatre and will certainly go again. Good luck in the future.

A full female cast..... all well received....contributing to a believable 'comedy' storyline. Much enjoyed, interval taken at The Red Lion olde pub, yards from the actual theatre (thankyou)...or a pre-ordered ice cream......

We will return..

I have been to lots of productions at The Lion and this was certainly one of their best productions. A really clever set and exciting acting brought the play to life.

It is a tiny theatre run by local amateur players providing shows of a very high caliber.

The panto’s are always a sellout too so if you’re in the area this is a treat you wouldn’t want to miss.
