    Better than we were expecting
They have an interesting mix of exhibits, most of which are very well presented and modern. Low level glazing on exhibits such as the meerkats is great for the little ones. We were there much longer than expected for such a small site. A trip to the cafe after an hour or so helped us warm up on a cold spring half-term day. The kids really didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful little animal park, which is clearly the owner's passion
This was my first visit since 2012. There has been a huge amount of development since that visit, with the park turning into more of a zoo now, with exotic animals, and a greater density of animals. The place still appears to be a labour of love with none of the passion lost in this 11 year period. The attention to detail is superb. The gardens are lovely and it is great to spend time in them. There is now a new play area, which is nice, and good to see that the domestic/farm animals are still present. There was quite a lot of construction still going on, but the quality of the new aviaries and animal enclosures is very high, so it is really nice to see continuous investment. The paths were a bit muddy in places but this was because there had been a lot of work in the closed period and they hadn't been finished. Again, it is a positive sign that this investment is ongoing, so no points lost for that! The cafe only serves basic snacks and the coffee machine is not quite up to the demand of a busy Bank Holiday Weekend. The staff were all friendly and it was simply a pleasure to visit all round. Highly recommended, and I hope that it won't be 11 years to my next visit!

    Great place, family run!
A great place to visit while in the area! A fantastic park with many different animals and birds to see, a cafe with tempting treats and family run by a great team. A real credit to Filey and always moving forward with new enclosures and animals etc. Support local!

    A lovely afternoon
Visited with 4 grandchildren aged under 6 and it was perfect for them. Not too big for them to walk around but still plenty to see to keep them interested. Very tidy and clean with a lovely small well stocked cafe. Highly recommend especially for toddlers and young children.

    Wonderful Afternoon Visit
We visited whilst on hoilday on the coast, very surprised at the very reasonable admission charges, many would charge more, the staff were so welcoming, lovely cafe and gift shop. The vast array of birds we saw was amazing, plus the animals were an added bonus, obviously well cared for. The garden area peaceful and tranquil with lots of seating areas, a real oasis on the outskirts of Filey. In all a lovely afternoon out.

    Worth a visit
Clean and tidy site, animals seem well cared for, nice park and sand pit area for the kids. Beautiful garden. Allow you to feed some of the animals. Wasnt alot of food choices in the cafe at saturday lunch time when we arrived but was enough snacks and drinks to stop you going hungry, also a nice little gift shop on your way out. Would definitely recommend a visit

    Another great family day.
Another fantastic day out here. Adults and kids both love visiting here, so easy to walk around and view the animals and birds here. Very well laid out and enclosures are really good sized and animals all appear to be very comfortable in them. Lots to see so close up. Staff are great, friendly and knowledgeable, cafe is good value for money and worth the money. Everywhere is clean and well maintained. Money well spent.

First class day out that will not disappoint.
Me & my wife was having a holiday near Scarborough and we decided to go to Filey Bird Garden & Animal Park and I have to say we loved it, what a fantastic little place this is. There is a good variety of birds in large aviaries, there is a menagerie of animals in large enclosures, these enclosures and aviaries are very clean and well maintained. The whole park was clean and well laid out with good disabled friendly paths, the gardens was lovely and colourful and the wild life pond was great, what I did like to see was the sensory garden for the children, the cafe is very nice and the staff are really lovely. This little animal park is worth a visit for the young and the old, we enjoyed it very much.

Worth a trip to visit animal and garden with small children family
Small bird, animal and garden park worth a visit. Staff friendly welcome and polite. The animals are well look after and care for. Great layout, small location are close due to building new exhibition. Lovely birds, farm animals and small playarea for kids plus small woodland, surrounded plus bug habit with wildflower. Make me proud of this place finding way of bringing back bugs idea. Small cafe good selection but cold food and cakes. Small shop to spend on after your trip. Overall love this beautiful garden and animal park Def come back soon

Visited for the first time whilst in the area . Park was really quiet as weather wasn't great price was also reduced which was good . Was a nice visit with a fair bit to see . Really nice selection of birds we all loved George the talking parrot . Did feel sorry for the donkey and Shetland ponies as they were soaking wet and enclosure was very muddy . Nice gift shop and would be lovely in the summer .

This was our first visit to the park and we took our 2 granddaughters aged 3 and 5.They really enjoyed it ,especially George the talking parrot! The donkey and fierce goat were also favourites along with the meerkats.
Yes, it is quite small but very accessible and lots to see and do; even on the first opening day of the year.Spring and summer would be lovely!
Wed definitely return.

Despite the drizzle, we had a fantastic visit today. The paths were quite water logged in places due to the recent rain but all areas were still accessible. It just meant that my 5 year old enjoyed the puddles, as well as the birds and animals!

There is a good mix of birds and animals including some talks throughout the day at feeding times. We did the lemur talk and meerkat talk, both of which were very good.

When we visited there were a large number of Halloween decorations and a trail to follow for children with a bag of sweets at the end. There were also plenty of jokes on the animal enclosures, which also kept my son entertained.

The toilets were immaculate (despite the weather) and little things like drinking water available to top up your drinks bottle are a nice touch. It was also nice to see baby change facilities in both the men’s and ladies toilets.

There is a small cafe with drinks and sandwiches which we didn’t go in as well as a small gift shop. The staff were very friendly.

We spent a couple of hours here and it was well worth the £23 entry fee for all 3 of us. If the weather had been nicer, we would’ve stayed longer, as my son also enjoyed the playground. It was just too wet and cold to play for long!

Always love it here, come 2/3 times a year and spend 3-4 hrs each time. An absolute bargain for the entrance price, lovely to see animals so well cared for in enclosures big enough for their needs. This place is constantly evolving and staff the friendliest people you will meet, its like seeing family everytime I go!
Highly recommend.

Genuinely lovely and committed staff to the welfare of the animals.

It was lovely to see the care and attention the staff have for the animals, making sure their needs were truly catered for. It was clear from the way the animals interacted that they are loved.

I'm not a major fan of 'zoos', and it isn't a zoo there.

Although it is a mantra there, that everything is done through positive reinforcement, that is the way to do it, and always on the animals terms. Which was in clear evidence.

I would definately visit again, after having a really enjoyable few hours there today. Hopefully to catch the alpacas in a more social mood. I think may have caught them in a post-lunch snooze period!

We loved our visit here, the animals are well looked after and the gardens are beautiful. Enough animals to see for a couple of hours if you take your time and read about them. We really enjoyed spending some time with Popeye the Grey African parrot and feeding the donkeys - free parking too which was a bonus. Highly recommend, wonderful work being done here.

A nice clean and tidy little animal park. Each enclosure has information about the creature inside and there are also talks throughout the day when some of the animals are fed.
All staff were friendly and happy to answer questions.
The site has a children's play area and picnic area.

Lovely visit to Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park which is located on the A165 just north of Filey. This is excellent value for money and extremely well kept. There are birds of all kinds, meerkats, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, horses, donkey, alpacas lots of small animals, a cafe and play areas for kids with climbing equpment. There is also a beautifully maintained formal garden and a huge wildlife pond area. You can feed the larger animals with food bought from the entry point. Dogs welcome on short leads. Great for disabled, everything can be easily experienced. Absolutely great for kids too 🤣🤣! Thoroughly recommended xxxxx

This is a hidden gem which is definitely worth a visit, the birds and animals appear well cared for with plenty space in their enclosures, we spent 4 hours looking around, they have donkeys, alpacas, parrots, merekats to name a few, the gift shop is small but sells varied items and the cafeteria sells sandwiches and drinks. It is accessible to some mobility needs but a little heavy for zimmers and rollators.
