    Lovely visit.
This was our first visit to the park and we took our 2 granddaughters aged 3 and 5.They really enjoyed it ,especially George the talking parrot! The donkey and fierce goat were also favourites along with the meerkats. Yes, it is quite small but very accessible and lots to see and do; even on the first opening day of the year.Spring and summer would be lovely! Wed definitely return.

Nice visit on a cold day
Visited for the first time whilst in the area . Park was really quiet as weather wasn't great price was also reduced which was good . Was a nice visit with a fair bit to see . Really nice selection of birds we all loved George the talking parrot . Did feel sorry for the donkey and Shetland ponies as they were soaking wet and enclosure was very muddy . Nice gift shop and would be lovely in the summer .

    Enjoyable few hours with kids
We love the bird and animal garden! The meerkats are always fun to watch and this time we even heard George talk. The kids enjoy the playground. Shop has some lovely gifts at reasonable prices.

    Good place to visit
Visited with my grandchildren, we all enjoyed seeing the birds and animals and great to find out more information on the animal talks. They loved the talking parrot and the Shetland ponies. Play park a bit hit. Dog friendly which was perfect for us. Visited the cafe and had lunch and ice creams, good value. All staff very friendly at the park.

    Great day out
We visited here today with our 4 year old and baby. Very nicely laid out and cared for, pram friendly. Lots of animals and birds to see with a play park for little ones. Food bags are 60p and our daughter loved feeding the animals. We enjoyed the animal talks/ feed demonstrations too. Cafe is great, reasonably priced and you can eat in (sandwiches, fresh homemade cakes etc) or get a tea/coffee to take with you. Staff were all friendly and approachable. We spent 3 hours here in total. There are more enclosures being built and worked on so we look forward to visiting again in the future!

    Great day out!
It was our first time at the Park with our grand daughters and I can promise we will come again. All the animals and birds appeared really happy and there was plenty to see. The gardens were beautiful and well cared for, the toilets and changing areas were spotless, and the children’s play area was well planned and thought out. We spoke to several staff tending the animals and they all had time to give advice and clearly enjoyed working/volunteering there. In fact I don’t have a negative thing to say about the park. Even the entry fee was reasonable. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Great place and dog friendly too!
This was a great find for us whilst holidaying in Yorkshire. It's a lovely well kept park and the animals look very well taken care of. The bonus for us was they allow dogs into the park. The facilities are very clean and plenty of hand washing site's for after you've fed the animals.

Lovely bird and animal park, not far from Scarbrough
This has been on our to do list for a while now. Set off in motor home 10 days ago but the heavens opened so we came home. Went back again yesterday. From the outside its tempting to drive past but we went in. ITS LOVELY clean well kept everywhere. All the animals and birds have nice enclosures, the staff are helpful and the cafe is clean. Entry didn't cost an arm and a leg prices sensible. There's plenty of seating to sit and have a break. Our 10 year old want to go back, she loved George the talking dancing waving Cockatoo, she kept on going back to see him and get him to talk. I think there was a yearly pass available to purchase so will be looking into it as we only live about 35 to 40 miles away so it will be a lovely day out in the summer.

A nice place to visit with a young family
We visited as a young family with a child aged 14 months and had a good time. The site is neat, organised and well presented. There is a carpark that had plenty of space, and everything was accessible (for our pushchair). It was safe to let our daughter run around. She enjoyed seeing the animals and birds, particularly feeding the goats, horses, etc. There is a play park which was a nice addition, and gardens, so there was enough to keep us occupied for a couple of hours. Entry is £9 per person and a bag of animal food is 60p. I think it was worth it and it was a nice family trip.

    A really lovely day out!
Such a lovely day out! It was great to walk around and see all the birds and animals. I enjoyed feeding some of them! George the cockatoo was a particular highlight- he loved to dance to the heavy metal music I played him, and we had a good chat. It was also great to see some Turacos again who had been at Harewood. The animals all seem really happy and well looked after. Definitely hoping to return again soon!

What a fabulous little place this is, and an attraction for young and old, at such low cost. Happy animals in great enclosures, and emphasis on genuine welfare and enrichment for all. We normally dislike zoos, and are very mindful of animal welfare. But this little family-run establishment seems to have got things right, and it is commendable that they are constantly ploughing money back into the business, to make it even better for the animals.

The staff are welcoming and friendly, and they are knowledgeable, too. They clearly enjoy their jobs, and genuinely care for their animals and value their visitors. Feeding times are highlighted throughout the day, and they were a pleasure to watch – with great photo opportunities! Bags of food are available to buy to feed the animals, too, but PLEASE take note of which animals this is suitable for (as clearly laid out on the guide), as we saw people trying to feed animals that weren't suited to eating it... Signs on enclosures would be beneficial.

There are many areas to enjoy a picnic, from sitting in beautiful secluded gardens (where children, too rightly, are to be controlled), to being out in the open and watching the animals. There is also a nice little inexpensive café, with great coffee and homemade cakes, where dogs are welcome inside. The gift shop is small, but packed with nice things, and not just the usual tacky merchandise that you tend to find in places like this.

We will be back when it opens again in April, and we will buy a season ticket this time. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit – and so did our dog (who loved the wallabies the most, but was transfixed by the Asian Leopard Cat!).

Great little wildlife zoo/ park. Animals appeared well looked after and enclosures clean and very spacious. I think we must of spent about 15 minutes with the cockatoo speaking with it ( I’m sure he was called George ). Friendly staff especially in the cafe which also had very reasonable prices and a good selection of cakes and drinks. Admission fee is cheap and you can also buy animal food very cheap when paying to get in. As we was in the area on holiday it was a massive bonus that its dog friendly as otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to visit.

Despite the drizzle, we had a fantastic visit today. The paths were quite water logged in places due to the recent rain but all areas were still accessible. It just meant that my 5 year old enjoyed the puddles, as well as the birds and animals!

There is a good mix of birds and animals including some talks throughout the day at feeding times. We did the lemur talk and meerkat talk, both of which were very good.

When we visited there were a large number of Halloween decorations and a trail to follow for children with a bag of sweets at the end. There were also plenty of jokes on the animal enclosures, which also kept my son entertained.

The toilets were immaculate (despite the weather) and little things like drinking water available to top up your drinks bottle are a nice touch. It was also nice to see baby change facilities in both the men’s and ladies toilets.

There is a small cafe with drinks and sandwiches which we didn’t go in as well as a small gift shop. The staff were very friendly.

We spent a couple of hours here and it was well worth the £23 entry fee for all 3 of us. If the weather had been nicer, we would’ve stayed longer, as my son also enjoyed the playground. It was just too wet and cold to play for long!

Filey Bird Garden & Animal Park, the park itself is ok well kept animals seemed well cared for, my gripe is with the carer access, I took my son who is autistic who needs support 24/7 I asked for a carer ticket only to be asked if I was pre booked and if I was a professional carer? Never in all my years have I been told that's a parent/carer I'm not entitled to a carer discount because ima parent.
So parent carers don't count is what the Filey Bird Garden & Animal Park seem tobe saying, someone who's being paid to care is more valuable than me, I'm really disgusted at your stance in carers had my son not been so excited to see the animals I would have turned round and walked away, shame on you Filey Bird Garden & Animal Park, this is the last time I will ever visit and I will let as many carers know at your attitude towards them through as many different forums and groups as I can find.
I'm thoroughly disappointed in you

Dreadful experience, full of lethargic, lonely creatures. Rude older lady upon paying entrance fee, must o thought i couldnt read as I was snapped at that dogs must be on short leads. I'd read this online and at the entrance. In fact the dogs friendly prompted a visit. The dogs inside were the most active creatures.

A small handful of animals, mostly farm creatures and aviary birds. Almost every enclosure had a temporary sign, that looked aged and likevig had been there a long time. Should temporary signs not be made permanent, given visitors pay an entrance fee. Not well kept or clean enclosures or park. Very dated and needs lots of TLC. Most creatures were asleep? although it was midday. They looked placed at enclosure windows to give an impression of animals.
Notably the coiled yelliw snake and ball of furcwhich was i believe a Lemur.

The wildcat was the loneist animal I've every seen.

Sensory garden area full of dead plants.

The main aviary section by far the best kept area, clearly a gardener in the staff team.

Not worth the money or visit. Disapointing asmarketed as as a family run business! Appeared more like a rescue sanctuary.

Just got back from a fabulous day out. We arrived at 10.50 in time for the first talk at 11. There’s a talk every hour at different animals I’d highly recommend going to them all as you see the animals so much more active and up close. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and always smiling. It’s a really good admission price as well compared to some other family attractions. The food in the cafe is incredible! The cakes are to die for! We stayed till 3.30 but we would have gone to the last leopard cat feeding at 4 but we had to get back to our own animals. There are loads of places to picnic as well which we did but we also went in the cafe for a sweet treat. There is an amazing selection of animals and reptiles to see it’s definitely a little hidden gem of filey.

Definitely not worth the money we spent, Cost us £20+ and we were there maybe 30 minutes? I understand they were refurbishing and building, But the "exhibits" that were available were poor, Not much to see, Could of seen more driving down a country road.. Children were very bored and underwhelmed.

Another note is how easily the ostrich can stick his head through the fence and attempt to bite anyone walking past the enclosure, with a small sign saying "Will Bite" Its all well and good giving a warning to stop people going near it, But it can stick its head fully through the fence.

Lovely place to take the children. We came whilst on a camping holiday. The staff were all friendly and looked after the site extremely well. There were staff doing animal talks and feeding each hour, staff members trying to clear away puddles so guests weren’t walking in muddy sludge. The jokes posted around the park were great also and have us a right giggle on the way around. Toilets lovely and clean, snacks and drinks a little expensive. £1.80 for a can of pop so we didn’t bother but that’s the only negative and I assume the prices are due to inflation and buying in costs which is fair enough. Overall a lovely little place, superbly looked after and amazing animals. Definitely worth a visit!

We happened upon the farm whilst staying in Filey. It is not a massive place so won’t take hours to walk round. My daughter is animal mad so enjoyed feeding some of the animals. They have a good selection for a small place but much more birds and farm animals. The staff were friendly and the price was fine. We particularly enjoyed making George the parrot talk and dance!!

We visited whilst on hoilday on the coast, very surprised at the very reasonable admission charges, many would charge more, the staff were so welcoming, lovely cafe and gift shop. The vast array of birds we saw was amazing, plus the animals were an added bonus, obviously well cared for.
The garden area peaceful and tranquil with lots of seating areas, a real oasis on the outskirts of Filey. In all a lovely afternoon out.
