The house is impressive - it was designed to impress. Paintings by Van Dyck, tapestries and porcelain. But what took our breath away were the gardens, and the flair of the gardeners. The white enclosed garden, the pinks and purples of the rose garden and...More

The gardens are outstanding. The Head Gardner is to be congratulated on the wonderful colour combinations and stunning vistas. He is obviously a plantsman who takes great joy in his work. My particular favourites were the rose garden and the walled garden.

Externally the house is very impressive and seems very well maintained. There are extensive, beautifully mown lawns and wonderful views. Unfortunately, due to a lack of time, we were only able to see the rose garden which had very few roses and the lily pond...More

Thank you for your review. We are open from noon each day and tours begin at 1pm, so I am sorry you only arrived in time for the last tour and had limited time before we closed at 5pm. Obviously art appreciation is subjective but...More

This was our first visit to Boughton House which, contrary to logic, is not in Boughton village but quite some distance away! I had planned our approach using Google Maps but this went a bit awry as my proposed entrance - off the A4300 Stamford...More

Thank you very much for your comprehensive review. Our official signs do point visitors via Geddington, unfortunately sat navs (and Google maps despite our trying to put them straight)can send you to the wrong (private) entrance as the same postcode covers the whole park. Photography...More

Dear Linda Thank you for your kind review, it can indeed be difficult to keep track of all the Family links - we do have a comprehensive family breakdown in the guidebook but will look at the possibility of having it elsewhere. best wishes
