This a strange one. Spent the afternoon strolling around the grounds admiring this sad but strangely lovely shell of a building. Although this isn’t a ruin but an unfinished project it still evokes this distant part of history. Go on a still and dry day...More

This Elizabethan house, with its interesting history, is a shell that was under construction as a lodge when it was abandoned. It is a fascinating example of construction for that period, and is supplemented by some very interesting grounds. The moats, orchards, gardens and large...More

Beautiful setting on a nice day but not much to do it the weather is bad. Lovely walks and a fascinating story of wealth and loss. Worth a visit but make sure the sun is out!

A ruin set in lovely countryside, take a picnic in good weather and you wouldn't be disappointed. Good space for children to run around.

I may still be giddy on the gorgeous autumn sunshine during my visit to Lyveden, but I had such a lovely day, I lost at least 1 hour sat in the trees in the sunshine. Wonderful. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and talked...More

Only had time for a quick walk round. Enjoyable even so including the moat and the wood. Lots of explanations. Excellent soup in the cafe and usual NT sandwich. Just love the countryside around this area. Will be back to walk around more.
