- NartinioBath, United Kingdom51 contributionsBrilliant place, once you can find a space to park.A great place. Plenty of places to shop and eat. One slight problem, (and the reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5).... Is the parking. It's a victim of it's own success tbf. Top tip: Visit on Sundays. Weekdays. But NEVER Saturdays.Hello, Thank you for your kind comments and feedback - we do hope you will visit us again soon. - wally CranfloppDudley, United Kingdom75 contributionsNo parking so I had to park my car 2 miles away and walk.I was planning on meeting a fellow amateur lumberjack on a Saturday morning. When I arrived in my vehicle at 11 o’clock am,the whole place was utterly gridlocked. I drove around for 1 and a half hours and still couldn’t find any where to park. I left feeling humiliated and unable to keep my eyes dry. I decided to not let the owners or organisers of this retail area win so I managed to park my car responsibly in a church about a mile away and walked in( even with my bad feet). I met Donald outside a shoe shop and we both agreed that next time we meet up , we would do so somewhere much better, like Bedford,Kettering,Northampton,Milton Keynes,Peterborough, slough,Inverness,st Ives,Basingstoke, Newcastle or even Manchester. Waste of time if you intend on parking a car.Hello, Thank you for your feedback regarding parking and sorry to hear you were unable to park. Weekends are our peak days with early afternoons being our peak time. We do advise visitors that our quieter times are early morning and evening. Please also be aware that you can drive down our service road if you would like to reach the end of the site (towards Cineworld) quicker. If you do require any assistance or further information please call Customer Services on 01933 427925. - herenthere176 contributionsAvoid stress, don't book cinema on a weekend afternoonCineworld Rushden Lakes is my closest cinema. The tickets are eye-wateringly expensive, so a visit to the (even dearer) Imax is a once a year, special film, sort of treat. Sadly, what the ticket does not include, is any hope of getting a parking space. To go on a Saturday afternoon is to risk missing the film. It took us 40 minutes to find a car leaving that did not already have another car waiting. Our eleventh hour success was only thanks to some nice ladies who indicated to us where their car was as they walked towards it. Clearly, when this facility was planned, no one gave any thought at all to the fact that a 14 screen cinema would need substanstial parking. There's no system in place to give any kind of priority to those with cinema tickets. I was close to leaving my friend in the gridlock to go and try to get our money back. Don't go near Rushden Lakes on a summer weekend afternoon for any reason. You just don't need that much stress in your life.Visited July 2023Written 3 July 2023
- 2goxploringThrapston, United Kingdom16 contributionsCrap Parking lets it downBeen a few times to the lakes and i would say its a nice place overall. Boating lake area is really nice could be a few more high street clothing stores dotted around. If your planning in going for food or cinema and have booked the planning of the carparking will seriously let you down on arriving on time. Saturdays are awful one way in, one way out you can be stuck for hours. Possibly easier to park over the road at the supermarket and walk although its a trek.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 July 2023

Lovely shops. Could do with more toilets there. Some lovely shops. And the jacket potato stand is lovely.

The parking is ridiculous. When you manage to get into the place (which is a trial in itself) you and many others just drive around the car park looking for a space. This is the third time this has happened (different days, different times) - Don't bother

I visit the lakes at least once a week as I live 15mins away. I LOVE this place and always feel like I’m on holidays when visiting R Lakes. Absolutely everything about this place is amazing. The great mix of shops / the cafes and restaurants ( quite a few dog friendly ) and the beautiful natural surroundings. Yes, parking can be tricky but I’ve never had an issue - I make sure I arrive at quieter times and always manage to find a spot.
R Lakes is the best thing to happen in Rushden ever. Thank you to whoever designed this place.

Shocking customer service
I bought a Barbour shirt. On the shelves were 8 exactly the same shirts , 4 priced at £60.00, 2 at £38.00. and 3 at £70.00 with 20% discount. When asking shopassistant my size, she advised me to look and check as they were shirts in the sales, all was displayed.
I chose one of the £38.00 and paid for it, this was deducted from my bank account. The cashier made a typing error and needed to ask a manager to rectify it. The manager then stated she could not sell the shirt to me as it should be £70.00 and the majority of the prices should be charged as per policy!!
She stated that some customers changed the pricing, some staff made errors and the correct price was £70.00 , however 20% could be deducted, making the price of the shirt £56.00 and not £38.00 as marked.
Needles to say I will never go back to the House of Fraser again. I still haven’t got the refund in my account!
Shopping on line I found exactly the same shirt at £35.00! What a pity as shopping in store should be a pleasure.

Short notice on question but thought I’d ask on the off chance! Just seen you can only park for 5 hours. Anyone know of anywhere else you can park and then walk in at all? Thanks

It doesn’t seem to be well known but you can go to the customer services office near to the entrance to M&S or there’s a “meet and greet” desk just inside the cinema complex and ask to extend your stay beyond the 5hrs if you think you’re going to overstay.

I spent over 7 hours shopping with my daughter in Rushden lakes, getting clothing and other items that she needed for university. We visited 2 of the restaurants and had a really lovely day. It wasn't until I was complaining about the amount of time we had been there to an assistant when she told me about the parking rules. I can't believe that the shops would want to loose our business, I have receipts for the whole day. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks for your time

You can just go to the customer services and tell them you need longer, they take your registration number so you don’t get fined.

If the Road and parking system isn't greatly improved soon retailers WILL lose business! everyone in my family and friends group all agree... weekend shoppers will start to avoid Rushden Lakes! the planning is awful! and delays caused at the A45 roundabout is certain to lead to accidents and road rage! as a local I have already seen a lot of this. It should have been foreseen at the planning stage! ...but needs sorting very quickly before shoppers dwindle.

Thank God there are none. No incentive for idiots with jcbs to ram raid them or beggars to camp near them and saves on receipts being littered all over the place as we head for cashless Utopia

To walk round the Lakes yes but not in the shops unless a guide dog. You can probably sit outside coffee shops with them. I think I saw a notice saying dogs may bring their well behaved or polite owners! And that there were dog water bowls around.
