February snowdrops walk

Wonderful walk in the woods and parkland past huge beds of snowdrops. Long walks of at least 1 or 2 hours. A bit muddy in places, but a good map and easy to find your way. The... read more

Poorly maintained paths. The signage is not good and inaccurate in places. We found the map poor and not a lot of help. Snow drops were lovely but that's about all there is at this time of year ( Feb 19th) Expensive for what's on offer. Lady taking payment a bit surly.

Wonderful walk in the woods and parkland past huge beds of snowdrops. Long walks of at least 1 or 2 hours. A bit muddy in places, but a good map and easy to find your way. The cafe was good, a very historic setting, but the drinks and service was not exceptional. Well worth the visit and would have been... More

Our 30th Wedding Anniversary was yesterday & we spent it in glorious sunshine walking around the gardens. It was a treat and I am sure it looks even better in the Spring Had the Rarebit and a drink in the café which was very nice in a spectacular settings

Lovely gardens and a magic place to wander around to see the autumn leaf colour. There is a good map and you can walk a considerable distance around the lovely grounds. The only disappointment was the restaurant where the food was poor: salad leaves that were unwashed and a live slug wandering around the plate - and no apology either.... More

This was the best soup and sandwich I have ever had. Lovely freshly made sandwiches for the children with fruit and crisps. Really fresh homemade food. Lovely selection of cakes. Great service in a historic setting.

A stunning hidden garden throughout the seasons. Worth a visit for all but especially gardeners, painters and anyone interested in history. Lovely tea room, the home of Earl Grey

The garden is designed with subtle informality. The arbitration is of national importance. The guided tour was particularly good. This garden was much superior to my expectations!

We spent a delightful day at Howick hall. The gardens were fading as it was October but the grounds were well maintained and the Autumn plants were putting on a fine display. We thoroughly enjoyed our wandering through the grounds and around the church before making our way back to the tearoom for an excellent homemade lunch. I would recommend... More

This is a very pretty landscaped garden on a small scale. We found it wonderfully relaxing to wander around and rest awhile. In the house there is an interesting and informative exhibition about the garden, its history and design. We enjoyed our refreshments in the tea room - Earl Grey tea of course, with real leaves, and some delicious fruit... More
