The RNLI Grace Darling Museum tells the story of Grace and her father's heroic rescue of nine survivors of the wreck of the SS Forfarshire in September 1838. The museum is a small site, with a stunning view from the first floor. The main gallery includes the boat Grace and her father rowed to the rescue. RNLI Grace Darling Museum is a family-friendly site with trails, activities and temporary exhibitions during school holidays. We look forward to welcoming you.

We popped in here on our last morning in Bamburgh. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Modern, fresh museum which tells the tale of Grace Darling - lighthouse keeper's daughter. Fantastic view from the panoramic window on the 2nd floor.

This brings the story of Grace Darling truly alive. And it's free to get in but make a good donation to the RNLI when you go.

If you are in the area then this is worth a visit. Small but full of knowledge. Supports the RNLI and the strength of women well..

We came across the museum by chance as it wasn't widely advertised at the bottom of the village. Very modern building with welcoming staff. Very interesting insight into the rescue by Grace Darling. Very well done and worth a visit if in the area.
