About
"I imagine that the golfer's eye must be more often taken off the ball at Bamburgh than any other course" wrote Bernard Darwin in his 1920s book Golf on the LNER, "the view is so compellingly beautiful that we really have to look at it, no matter how critical the shot. Playing with my betterhalf her first ever round of links golf ever- on a windy cool day in November 2021 .
We had 18 holes and the course was in good condition , greens were a little longer than normal but the weather dictates this. After a wet patch of weather the course was surprisingly dry . Good tee boxes also so a good round should of happened - err no played well front 9 but dropped to many on back 9 due to the wind.
Clubhouse was welcoming and good food.
We have already booked another break next year here and we will play this course again.
Worthy of a game here.

Probably the most scenic golf club you will ever play. It's hard to concentrate totally on your game when you have such a beautiful setting all around you. The course is short but challenging and for October is in first class condition. The staff were very friendly and the meals were excellent value. Would definitely return, a fantastic experience. Well worth a visit. Perfect for the Peterlee golf society trip.

The staff are incredibly rude with a very rundown clubhouse. Our partners were playing on the course with 30 minutes of play left and they refused to serve us drinks inside or outside even though they didn’t have a single person inside the clubhouse. Although this rule is absolutely ridiculous, the staff weren’t even apologetic and were outright rude about it. I don’t know how it’s been running for so long and will never let anyone I know give them custom to be treated like something on the bottom of your shoe. I would advise speaking with your staff and teaching them some manners and professionalism.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and I'm very sorry you've had a negative experience. The course and the clubhouse is reserved for members and visiting golfers only, but perhaps the staff may have misjudged your situation, please accept my apologies. We do try and be as polite as possible when turning people away, but sometimes refusal does offend, so we will work on our public relations and customer service. If you can contact me at the club via phone or email I would like to discuss your experience and offer you an apology in person or over the phone. kind regards Club Manager.

Not a long course, but testing in many places with several blind shots. Generally the course was in excellent shape.
We were lucky enough to play on a glorious sunny day which made the very best of the lovely coastal scenery.

Thank you for your lovely friendly welcome in refusing my wife and I lunch yesterday. Having been served there for years and all of a sudden our faces don’t fit. We have visited golf clubs all over the country and have never felt so not wanted until today. Thank heavens my colleagues and ourselves don’t treat our customers this way and to think, you probably stood on your doorstep clapping for us.

Stunning views and a lovely course. The views are so good that the golf is often secondary. The course was in very good condition, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and other golfers were also friendly (something not always experienced at other courses). The (unusual) lack of wind also helped. One very minor point is that a few more bells wouldn't go amiss for several holes with blind shots.

This is a special place & we played it on a wonderfully sunny day.
The clubhouse is a bit odd (from a customer service point of view) but the course is unique. It is quirky & sporting, good fun.
The views of beaches, estuaries & a castle are outstanding
