Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Views and tranquility amazing along with guides knowledge to detail and area. I've done this a couple of times now and would recommend to any age or anyone with an interest in the North East and history.

We walked the pilgrims' route over the wet sand and mud with Patrick. It was amazing. We saw unusual bird species and saw and heard the seals. A colony of over 1,000 were singing and it's a terrific sound. Patrick makes it special. He knows everything but fees the info at just the right pace and tone.

I would recommend this walk in a heartbeat especially with Patrick as your guide. We loved hearing from him the history of Lindesfarne as well as the learning about flora and fauna of the sand flats. All delivered with the eerie singing of a colony of 3000 or so seals in the background. An unforgettable experience

I wouldn't attempt this walk without a guide - not knowing the pitfalls of walking across the sands. But also having someone with knowledge of the flora and fauna (and where to get the best coffee on Lindisfarne) was a +++bonus.

Our group consisted of family; the eldest being 70 the youngest being 9. We all throughly enjoyed our return walk to Lindisfarne. We enjoyed Patrick's knowledge on the history and wildlife of the area.
I can't recommend this walk enough.

Had the most amazing day with Patrick walking across the causeway - the Pilgrims’ way - to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and back again. Stunning scenery and great company. Patrick talked about the history of the area, while pointing out birds and seals with his binoculars. Stopped for coffee and cake on the island and was given a tour including sampling locally made gin and mead! Definitely recommend. And incredibly good value.

From start to finish this was a wonderful “wish list” experience!
Patrick is a great host and full of interesting information! We did however have the most amazing weather and the light was spectacular and the seals having a good mournful sing song was out of this world! If your going to do one thing in Northumberland, do this, driving across to holy island does not do it justice…you need to get slightly wet and muddy and do as the pilgrims did all those hundreds of years ago! Thanks Patrick!

Six of us, all old men, did the Pilgrim's Way walk to Holy Island. Although the walk itself is an amazing experience, it was enhanced by the enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide, Patrick, whose breadth of knowledge covered not only the Anglo Saxon history of the island, but also the natural habitat and flora and fauna of the area.

We had two great experiences with Patrick - the Ingram Farm safari and the walk to Holy Island over the mudflats. Thoroughly enjoyed them both and Patrick's knowledge and enthusiasm is infectious.
Would thoroughly recommend them both and we would happily do them again.
