Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The mighty river Tweed flows through the border country for 97 miles to exit into the North Sea at Berwick. It’s one of the greatest salmon rivers in the U.K. , and extremely popular with anglers. In the industrial age it was the lifeblood of numerous textile manufacturers , providing power for the many mills , hence why tweed cloth is named after it. It dominates the town , and there are 3 notable bridges crossing the river ; The Berwick Bridge dating from 1624, The Royal Tweed Bridge built in the 1920s, and the Royal Border Rail Bridge. A visit to this town would not be complete without a walk beside , or over, the Tweed.

The River Tweed is an iconic river that flows out in to the North Sea. Plenty of wildlife to be found on the banks and on the river itself.

A stroll along the riverside walks is a must do when in Berwick. The paths, unlike the walks along the walls and Elizabethan defenses, are mostly flat and level. The views up and down the river especially those that include the three bridges is a world class vista.
The walk up to the railway station from the riverside walk is a brilliant workout! Steep, it is!

Always wildlife to see including swans and numerous other birds, fish jumping, deer and even seals. Good paths nearer town or wear your walking boots for more adventure

Well worth doing the walk through town to the quayside to view the river and the 3 bridges. Blokes were raising fishing nets as we watched - beautiful views even in the rain.
