We had a fantastic tour of the Farne Islands on Serenity 2, our Skipper and Mate were brilliant and couldn't have been more helpful as was the lady manning the kiosk. The commentary given by the Skipper was great, very informative on the history of the Islands and on the wildlife. We saw many seabirds and masses of Grey Seals and their pups, some new born, others a few weeks old. This was our second tour with Serenity, the first was mainly about the birds, this one more about the seals, both very good value and very enjoyable. One word of advice to anyone thinking of a tour in winter time, if you think it's cold on land wait till you are out on sea, it's bitterly cold so make sure you wrap up with plenty of layers of warm clothes, you'll need them! We will definitely be going again when it's a bit warmer and are looking forward to it. Thoroughly recommended.

Great seal wildlife trip today. Superb communication from Serenity ahead of the trip, as we had to defer the trip due to rough seas on Monday. Out on the boat we saw lots of Grey Seals. We were also lucky to have a rare sight of dolphins on our way back to harbour. Thank you for a great trip.

We booked our tour, Farne Islands and Lindisfarne well in advance and kept our fingers crossed about the weather. We were on Serenity 4 which is the largest of the boats in this fleet. On the day the pre was definitely a roll to the North Sea but that made the trip more interesting. Once out round the Farne Islands the skipper was knowledgeable about the islands, their history and the birds around at the time of year. The trip to Lindisfarne was a little choppy but it was great to see the detail of Lindisfarne Castle emerging as we neared the islands. The time on the island was limited by the tide and only really enough time to take in one attraction.

My Farne Island boat tour was definitely a highlight of my Northumberland Coast holiday. I very much enjoyed seeing the seals and learning more about the history of the islands. Everyone from Serenity was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would return and would recommend the tour to my friends.

Another enjoyable trip out with Serenity boats to see the seals. Despite being an overcast windy day the boat was fairly stable and a few seals were visible both on shore and in the sea including a 1 day old pup.
The best part of the trip was when I spotted some dolphins and we spent a good 15 mins following and watching these magnificent animals which included two babies.
Being dog friendly our boy loved his boat ride and was more then happy to stand at the front of the boat looking at where we were going although a tight hold was maintained on the lead due to the number of sea birds which he fancied chasing.
Would definitely recommend.

10 of us aged 2 -82 years plus a dog did the seals trip lasting an hour and a half and we all loved it. The commentary on board was interesting, we saw loads of seals, got wet on lower deck by the waves, which the 10 year old with us loved and found the staff very friendly.
Do wrap up warm though.

My wife and I went on the 1215 sailing to the Farne and Holy Islands. (4.5 hours duration), on 12th October 2023.
Our skipper and his mate were both very knowledgeable and informative.
They kept us entertained throughout the trip.
The wildlife and scenery that we saw was stunning (bonus dolphin spotting!) and we felt that the whole thing was well worth the money.
We would recommend to anyone, but make sure you check the weather. Our day was glorious sunshine, with minimal wind.

Do you offer discounts for a group of 20?
how many people fit in a boat, please?

I think the capacity is about 30. As for price you would need to contact the owners but as Linda F says the cost is very reasonable anyway.

Is it best to book in advance? Would like to do the sunset cruise but obviously being weather dependant what are the chances of getting places once we’ve seen the forecast a few days or so before?

Generally you just sail around, but very close. Check with Serenity about tours that embark.

Hi, I know nothing's guaranteed, but what wildlife would you normally expect to see at the beginning of August? Many thanks.

Meant to say...we always go with Serenity now. They often have an extra person on board spotting other wildlife etc.
