About
Kimber House is home to the MG Car Club - formed by the MG factory in 1930. We're the original club for MG owners, based in Abingdon and catering for all MG models. At the Club's home in Abingdon, we have various artefacts on show - from small MG models, and factory signs, to original 1930s documents and a fully restored engine. If you're in the area, come down and explore the world of MG!

Wonderful to "call in" and immediately feel at home. Spent time enjoying memorabilia and the history we know well being MG buffs. Don't forget to sign the visitors book....

A must for every British car owner!

What a history lesson you'll have, when you visit this "shrine" to all things MG! The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable, and willing to tell (all who wish to "listen and learn") about this remarkable vehicle and its founders. There is a library of MG & BCM Comps Dept. books, an archive of more than 10,000 photos, and lots of items for sale (badges, clothing, books, etc.

Afternoon visit while staying nearby

If you are interested in the MG Car then is the place for you. A very informative tour of the premises with Aneke who was most polite and helpful. A free cup of tea and coffee and chance to walkabout and look at the historical items, a shop full of MG products if you fancy something to buy.

Absolutely wonderful.

As new MGB owners we decided to make the journey to see where it all began. We received a truly warm and enthusiastic welcome with a short, personal tour with an extremely knowledgeable lady. Then a very interesting chat with one of the club archivists.
We are now Club members and look forward to many years association with everything MG.

Ineke’s enthusiasm for MG’s history and her help in showing me archive materials related to my MGA really made my day when I called in recently. I was so impressed I joined the MGCC at the end of my visit - very well worth a look in if you’ve been bitten by the MG bug....

Worth a visit

First up i am not a MG owner & this will not interest everyone but if you like all thing associated with automobiles, especially vintage ones this will interest you, if you are an MG enthusiast you will love the place.
situated down the end of a small lane this is a small museum located right next to where they used to produce the MG. there is no cost to enter & the lady who answered the door was not only well informed in all thing MG she was friendly & very helpful.
A small museum with a small but interesting display, dont a expect a huge display of cars, this is mostly bits & pieces from the factory & even more interesting the large collection of productions records they hold on the site.
if you allow about 1 hour that should be plenty & worth the visit for MG owners & for any vintage car lover

Small but interesting collection of MG memorabilia.

We visited recently and were made most welcome and shown around by the knowledgeable staff, this despite not being members of the club.

There were two lovely cars on display, in addition to those in the car park which are no doubt owned by the staff! One was an MGBGT and as I own one myself I had an odd question about it which was answered with ease, much to my surprise.

Kimber House is adjacent to the site of the MG factory, now mainly a housing estate although the Admin block survives since it has been converted to flats.

As well as many interesting items on display, there is also a good shop which sells all sorts of books and souvenirs.

Make a point of visiting the nearby MG garden which also has some interesting displays, the staff will give you directions.

I can also recommend the town museum which has its own MG display.
