I've just been to Walcot Hall for the third time in a year and a half, to take Icon painting courses. The instructor rents out space there , both for accommodation and teaching facilities. Staying at Walcot Hall is like stepping into a Thomas Hardy novel. The grounds are wonderful; lots of greenery and animals within view - sheep in... More

We stayed in one of the yurts having been lucky enough to be invited to a terrific wedding at Walcot Hall. Beautifully situated overlooking the valley in a quiet spot a five minute walk up a steep track from the main house. The yurt was clean and well stocked with seasoned wood that had the place warm as toast after... More

I got married at Walcot Hall last week, having spent a week staying across the site with family and friends. The whole experience from my first viewing to my fabulous day was perfect. There is a wide variety of accommodation and with so many people staying I was able to explore so many and enjoy some fabulous little quirks. On... More

Walcot Hall is set in a stunning location and is a great place to get away from the hustle and bushel of modern life. The accommodation is a self catering and it has a shabby chic charm. Do not expect 5 star luxury, you get a comfortable and clean place to make your base. The grounds are a great place... More

Simple things in life can bring the most pleasure and remind you of the everyday things we miss in the hustle and bustle of modern life. The teams correspsondence before we arrived with Caitlin and LucieAnne was superb, speedy and welcoming. We arrived to our yurt overlooking the fishing pond with our boat moored and ready to go when we... More

We visited Walcot Hall on an Open Day and really enjoyed looking round. There are lots of interesting and unusual things to see, and I particularly liked seeing the portrait of the children, posed in the living room, in a traditional way, then later seeing the children themselves, busy on the computer while the guests looked round. The old ballroom,... More

Site has many and various cottages, houses, rooms. Great for large family gatherings with loads of outdoor areas, lakes, gardens. One can only imagine the hall in its glorious times with lots of service staff and supporting farm workers living in the staff homes. The Garden House and cottage called Harold were warm, clean and comfortable. If you prefer modern city hotels, this stately... More

Recently visited for a family wedding. A stunning venue which helped created a memorable wedding day. If staying for the weekend the cottages have a lovely warm feel however the art work on the walls are a little off putting and are likely to be found in a scary movie.

Held my Daughters Wedding at Walcott hall. I have nothing but praise for the venue and help given by the Staff. Lucieanne is a treasure nothing was any trouble for her and she was always available during the whole weekend. I recommend Walcott Hall to all as a Wedding reception venue

After attending a wedding there recently, I would say that the house is most disappointing and looks much better on the website.
