I visited Carol's studio on one of her open days after seeing her demonstrate at an arts festival. Her work is a feast of colour and textured landscapes, which draw the viewer in.
Following this visit I booked onto her course working with acrylics. It was a two day course where she started with a demonstration on techniques then gave the six of us time to develop our own technique, whilst supporting us all individually. We then went onto learn how she plans her paintings in a sketch book, using a maximum of six colours and encouraged us to plan our work. She then demonstrated how she worked; throughout the two days she worked intermittently at her own painting, it was very interesting to see the processes involved. By the end of the two days we had each produced a painting using the techniques taught.
Carol has a lively supportive way of teaching, valuing the efforts of the wide range of her students . If you want to develop your skills in acrylic painting I thoroughly recommend you doing her two day course.

If you are interested in art in any way I urge you to go visit Carole’s studio. You will be made more than welcome. Beautiful paintings for sale on the walls, tutored classes available both in the studio and various interesting locations throughout the year.
Treat yourself.

Thank you so much for your glowing review, wonderful to see you at the weekend. But why have you marked your visit as 'Terrible' - I'm hoping this is a mistake. Are you able to amend you end if it wasn't terrible?

I visited the studio a while ago with a friend. Carole made us very welcome and gave us a cup of coffee. The studio is very light and filled with a variety of paintings. in watercolour and acrylics and it was hard to choose one to buy as I loved so many.
I love Carole's paintings they are so vibrant.

This gallery is well worth a visit. Carole's paintings are taken from her travel experiences and she runs classes from the studio which is very well equipped and her vibrant work can be viewed here. She runs classes and arranges mini painting breaks which I am sure will be great fun and help anyone keen on painting to gain experience and knowledge.

Plough House is the Shropshire home and spacious studio of Carole Baker. I've been privileged to know and travel with Carole and her creativity is infectious. She holds regular workshops which nurture and support artists of all experience. Her "open studio" days allow time to appreciate the talent and skill that goes into every painting as she captures natural landscapes with vibrant colours. A visit is highly recommended, the views from the studio alone is enough to inspire any latent creativity.

Carole paints with an enthusiasm and inspiration which is so infectious. I was captivated the first time I saw her demonstrating at Patchings Art Centre in Nottingham many moons ago now. I never tire of attending her workshops, in fact, they have become an essential ingredient of my own artistic growth and confidence. Her understanding and knowledge of colour speaks volumes in her paintings - take a look at her gallery and you will see what I mean.
