- Abbywabbydabbywoo39 contributionsDefinitely worth a visit! Our first visit to Clevedon today we were impressed. The volunteers are so friendly and helpful. We had a lovely walk along the pier and then had a really nice lunch in the Glass box. The menu had lots of choice and the food was delicious. All the staff were friendly. It was a lovely atmosphere. The museum and porthole is a nice little touch too! We will be back!Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 January 2023
- Busy BBridgwater, United Kingdom14 contributionsGreat little place to visit. What a lovely place to visit! Even though it was cold on the day we went, it was still very enjoyable. Lovely, bright, well stocked shop, friendly, welcoming staff. Upstairs is some interesting history information. At the end of the pier was a coffee shop with, again, a cheerful welcome and good coffee/tea etc. The restaurant wasn't open as we were too early. Would definitely visit again.Visited January 2023Written 28 January 2023
- KelsieSouth Wales, United Kingdom14 contributionsFirst visit. Beautiful 💗Myself and my husband visited as a stop off on our way to a hotel we were staying at that evening. Our first visit and it was lovely. The pier was really nice with beautiful potted flowers at points along the pier. The staff at the entrance as well as the staff in the Glass box restaurant were very friendly and chatty. We had a tea and a coffee with eggs Benedict 👌 which was delicious. Would definitely recommend a visit. XVisited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 April 2023
- Alison T1 contributionWonderful VolunteersAs always, very helpful and kind volunteers. One gentleman helped us find one of our plaques. He then produced a much better cleaner than we had brought with us. Our plaques look shiny again! Made an emotional visit memorable. Thank you 😊Visited May 2023Written 28 May 2023
- Mich2 contributionsClevedon PierA much awaited experience of walking this feat of victorian engineering. I could almost see the ladies in their long dresses and bustles, parasols aloft with gentlemen in their top hats and coat tails. The visit was enriched and brought to life by Dianne and Jeff, two helpful and hardy volunteers who educated us with their wealth of knowledge and assisted my friend who uses a disability scooter, culminating in a guided tour of the porthole viewing room. It would not have been such a memorable day out without their company, help and support. My memory of Clevedon Pier will be associated with them.Visited June 2023Written 8 June 2023
- CazPaul16 contributionsFirst time visit to this beautiful and nostalgic pier; would highly recommend to any nostalgic history buff!Clevedon Pier has been on my bucket list for a while now and it certainly didn't disappoint. I visited on probably the windiest and rainiest Friday but this did not dampen my spirits one bit. I was greeted by warm and friendly volunteers who were so passionate about their beautiful pier - and quite rightly so. My first port of call was the little museum upstairs which had a very good amount of knowledge and visual history of Clevedon and its pier. It was a good starting point to my visit. I then progressed to the porthole room which I'd really been looking forward to. It didn't disappoint. The room was empty and I was free to spend as long as I liked marvelling at the structure of the pier struts. The toilet next door was clean, well stocked and spacious. The glass house staff were very friendly and assured me I could head straight to the pier through the restaurant. Now to the pier finally! Despite the wind and rain, I so enjoyed my walk along. I found the memorial plaques so beautiful and moving; what a truly lovely initiative. The Japanese style pergola and two shelters at the pier head were incredibly beautiful on so many levels. I ventured into the pergoda tea room up the set of iron stairs and was served by such a lovely volunteer. I enjoyed a welcome cup of tea and slice of Victoria sandwich whilst reading from my guide book which I also bought there. It was so precious to be reading about the piers fascinating past whilst sitting high up in the crows nest of the Japanese pergoda tea room. I felt a little sad for any visitors with mobility issues as there may be some areas they could not visit easily but this gies with the territory of such a heritage structure. Overall, despite the weather, I felt quite privileged to have immersed myself in a little of clevedon's history and heritage. I would like to return for the piers Fizz and chips (vegan option for me please), British weather permitting!Visited July 2023Travelled soloWritten 16 July 2023
- TME337Birmingham, United Kingdom6 contributionsGreat visitMyself and my husband visited on a wednesday in July and it was really lovely. The volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable especially Jeff who was at the end of the pier and gave us loads of information. We visited the coffee shop in the pegoda at the end of the pier which was lovely and later in the day we returned to the Glass House restaurant on the pier for a lovely meal. Well worth a visitVisited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 July 2023

I arranged a business meeting in the Porthole room for approx. 20 staff. Joe was very helpful when arranging this for us and responded very quickly. I was also able to meet with Joe the week before to check the room and projector. We were all able to sit in the Porthole room comfortably with a projector, dimming lights, table and chairs. Drinks were brought to us upon entry, with water and glasses available on the tables and pre-booked drinks were bought to us for a mid morning break. Staff and volunteers were lovely and went above and beyond. Toilet facilities were clean and tidy. We also pre-booked lunch which arrived on time and was absolutely delicious. Everyone was able to enjoy the view from the Porthole with high tide coming in throughout the morning! Some of us had to dash back to the office but the rest of us were able to enjoy a walk along the pier at the end of the meeting. I would highly recommend Clevedon Pier for a meeting and hope to book another meeting with them in the not too distant future. Thank you to everyone involved.

A real lovely little trip.
The volunteers are what really make this lovely. They’ve created a fairy trail hunt along the pier for your little ones. My daughter loved it.
Well maintained pier and had a lovely little cafe at the very end. Had a nice brew and bics with a nice view. (Shame about the weather).
The staff were all so warm and friendly! They were more than happy to give any info about the pier.
There’s also a mini museum upstairs, nice and interactive for the kids.
Worth a visit if you’re passing by ☺️

We purchased a plaque on Clevedon Pier a year ago and finally got to see it in place. It’s a beautiful Pier, wonderful history and looked after by a fabulous group of volunteers. Particular shout out to Jeff & his wife, who helped us to find our plaque & gave us the cleaning equipment to make our plaque shine brightly. Clevedon is a fabulous town & the Pier is the crowning glory in my opinion.

Is it open these days?
JackieBristol
Clevedon, UK79 contributions
Due to Covid-19 it re-opened on 25/6/20, but not every day, currently limited to only opening Thursdays through to Sundays 11am-5pm (last admission 4.30pm). This is because most of the people you will meet on your visit to the Pier are volunteers and again, due to Covid-19 many are unable to return to volunteering at present. Currently only the open-air areas of Pier are open, so they have reduced entry fee to reflect this. Always check their website or Facebook Page to ensure it's open, as on stormy, rough days it may need to be closed for safety reasons. Fabulous views back to Clevedon & across the Channel, great place for some fresh air whilst enjoying the scenery, & beauty of this 151 year old Pier! Please visit, it's lovely and needs people's support at the moment!

Hello
Yes we are dog friendly, just a couple of areas where we ask you not to take your dog - the restaurant, Porthole room and Discover@thePier. Our friendly volunteers will be more than happy to look after your 4 legged friend whilst you have a look at these areas.

I would like to know if they could reconsider having a Balloon Release when it re-opens. There are so many more environmentally friendly things to do and balloons cause do much damage to marine and Wildlife. Thank you

Dear Lynnecaul
Clevedon Pier take very seriously the concerns that have been raised regarding our Balloon release. We have therefore made the decision to cancel this part of our celebration, with the confidence that this will not affect the enjoyment of the rest of our special event. We do hope you will join us on the day.
