About
Re-opened in 2010, the Centre incorporates the former Bass Museum and tells the story of the birthplace of british beer, its people and the history of brewing in the UK. Our tour guides offer tours at 11.00am and 2.00pm, bringing stories to life. Sample some of the excellent real ales brewed at the Centre's Heritage Brewery or enjoy a bar meal or a full flagon banquet in our restaurant with a beer and food guide to help you appreciate the flavours of beer. The Centre's corporate and function rooms (and our 400 capacity permanent marquee) are set in the historic brewery buildings and offer a great venue for your company function, weddings, parties and social gatherings.

We hired a room for a reunion of roughly 55 people with food and DJ,
The room was a good size, bar not great so had to go to another bar for ales etc,
Staff nice, DJ brilliant, (booked separate)
Food was rubbish, didn’t taste the very bland looking chicken, had some chilli, well mince really as it certainly didn’t have much actual chilli in, it wasn’t hot and there was no rice with it, so chilli, veg and uncooked new potatoes, very poor and mostly tasteless ... quite disgusted for the price we paid, very sure most of us won’t be going back for this kind of event ...

Hello petersN6395XP Thank you for your feedback and pleased that you were able to take advantage of both bars open on the day of your event. I am shocked to read that the food offering was not as expected from your booking with the team and shall be investigating. Thank you again for your feedback as we wish to continue to develop and grow our offer for our guests.

Good day out. Wonderfull Brewing memorabilia, Shire Horses and a restaurant too. Interesting exhibits including a working model Train exhibit of Burton in the past when the Trains did all the work. Go early have a good browse round and have a pub lunch at the on site Brewery Tap restaurant & Bar.

I really want to return to the Brewery Centre for Sunday lunch etc. but need to know the toilets have been sorted.
Can the centre please confirm work has been completed in the toilets to make them sanitary.

Hello Archie C We did face a very surreal challenge with the water pressure at one point to the site and our landlords have been investigating. We have improved this and the feedback and results are much better. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

A group of 20 of us came for a big birthday. Nicola is Sales was fantastic in advance, answering questions and helping me to make the arrangements.

We had the mezzanine in the bar/restaurant just for our group, which was great and gave us a relaxed space to eat lunch and chat before and after our tour.

The museum is huge and really interesting showing the history of brewing in Burton, a number of the breweries, a mock up of a bar with traditional pub games, historic vehicles, shire horses etc etc.

We all got to go on a ride on a brewer's dray, which the children loved and was an expected surprise at the end of the tour.

We then went back to the bar with a wadge of tokens for beer tasting!

Will definitely be back by ourselves to explore the museum in more detail.

Visited this extensive brewing museum on a wet and windy afternoon. It was very quiet, so nice to move around and see everything at our own pace. Entrance fee includes vouchers to sample beers at the end, but the entrance fee is steep for a family of older teenagers (over £50 for 4 of us)

Before I booked this guided tour, I rang to check the disabled access, and the young lady on reception could not have been more helpful, assuring me that the site is fully accessible. It was even better than expected! We started off with a delicious lunch of the Sunday roast carvery. The lady who not only cooked but served was very knowledgeable about how the food had been cooked, and it was absolutely delicious. The vegetables were fresh, meat was tender, potatoes yummy and onion gravy superb. Knocked other carveries into a cocked hat!!
Then on to the very interesting guided tour, with an excellent guide, Terry. He was so informative, especially with explaining how many brewery sayings now form part of colloquial English. The displays were great, and the huge model of the town in 1921 was absolutely amazing - we could have spent all day pushing buttons and making trains move. And there was a lift for that the disabled were able to reach all floors, and a disabled toilet.

We had such a great day! As I said to the receptionist and Terry, they need to promote this wonderful attraction as being disabled friendly, as there was no mention of this on the website and it is a massive selling point, especially when the weather is so cold and people want indoor attractions.

We've been on a lot of brewery and distillery tours, and this was one of the very best. We will definitely be back for another excellent meal, to buy up yet more beer from the shop, and maybe next time a self guided tour so that we can read all the info. A great day out - thank you!!

Meal and comedy night.
Meal; expecting a starter none arrived. Meal portions okay for me but younger men in group could have eaten more.
Lacked atmosphere as a few tables empty - perhaps covid cancellations.
Final comedian good, others a bit mixed.

Hello Valerie B, Thank you for your feedback. The Comedy Night was priced as such for a Supper Meal setting of £25 including a full comedian set. We continue to be impacted by COVID and appreciate that you recognised this. We shall pass your comments on to the comedy booking company for you with regards to the comedians. We hope to welcome you again soon

What a complete joke this venue has become !!
Attended the ‘Christmas Comedy Night’ last night and what a complete failure it was.
When I booked the tickets I was sent a ‘menu’ which listed 3 courses with 3 items in each course and asked to complete a form selecting the items I wanted from each course. This I did.
When the meal arrived it was a turkey dinner and cake, NO CHOICE WHATSOEVER. No starter at all.
When we complained we were given no explanation at all or any excuse, nobody could explain why.
Being a Christmas evening it would have been nice to have had a hat, crackers etc. but no, nothing at all.
The marquee had a few light lights strung up but nothing at all to make it Christmassy. The marquee itself has seen better days.
A very poor night indeed, so much so that our party left half way through.
The most disappointing thing, however, AS ALWAYS, is the state of the toilets. They a complete and utter disgrace.
They are never cleaned, there is water (being polite here) all over the floor and sinks, there is never any toilet paper or hand towels in the dispensers, no hand cleanser in the dispensers (2 bottles were on the sinks 1 of which was empty but they were so filthy I wouldn't want to touch them !!) and they just stink.
My wife assures me that the ladies toilets are in exactly the same state and always have been. In fact, they were so bad the ladies toilets were shut down early in the evening.
The toilets are right next to the dining area which cannot be good.
I have been to several functions here over the years and the toilets are always in the the same disgusting, unhygienic state. No-one is bothering to check them or to clean them periodically.
Someone needs to get a grip here and sort this out !!!!!!
We have been to some really good functions here in the past but I must say, this was the last time I will ever go here again.
It was just awful !! Wish I could give it a zero.

We went to the Wham tribute night. Took 40 minutes to get served our first drink. We were in the marque which had seen better days. Our table had sharp nails pocking through which cut our arms. They did bring us beer towels to cover the sharp nails up as no one had a hamner to knock them back in. The toilets were disgusting. I went to the bar to inform them that one was about to overflow. Next time I visited them they had put an out of order sign on it but by then the next one was blocked. So 2 out of the 3 were out of use. The drinks were served in plastic cups & they had no ice. The tribute act themselves were terrible. They sounded & looked nothing like Wham. No social distancing at all, we were put on a table with another party of strangers. (thank goodness they were lovely & friendly) The dance floor was rammed. The people on the next table actually walked out & left. We definitely won't be going to another night here.

Hello Karen J Thank you for taking the time to feedback. I have requested a full audit of tables to find out why a screw would be poking through. Our Marquee has had a new floor and curtains this year and so I am sorry to read that you feel it was looking under the weather. With regards to your notes about the Wham Troupe, we do source highly rated UK Touring Shows and will certainly take your advice onboard to ensure we introduce a different Wham Troupe if we are planning a Wham night again. Thank you again for your feedback.

Four of us got dressed up and went along to the Halloween party 30.10.21. Every customer there made the effort: all of the costumes were absolutely amazing. We arrived just after 8 and left just before 10. £8 a ticket which no one asked to see on arrival. It was held in the marquee and we reckon it was perhaps half its capacity. The band, Three Times Scarlet, were good but to be honest if it weren't for the fantastic effort from the customers we'd have left at 8:30. The staff genuinely didn't give a damn: they offered no warmth, welcome or enthusiasm for the event. The marquee was poorly decorated and felt vacuous which could have easily been forgiven and gone unnoticed had there been some kind of passion been displayed by a decent host. Zero ownership/management evident. Plus some fairly pricey drinks which we'd have gladly overlooked had we'd been made to feel Al though out money was appreciated. We left and popped into the Brews of the World where no one else was dressed up but the atmosphere was buzzing and the everyone was welcome. First event we've been to here and most definitely the last. For us just a complete waste of money.

Hello John F Thank you for your feedback. It is a fab to read that you enjoyed our band. The capacity was kept to a safe level due to the responsibility to our guests during this pandemic. We do, on some chosen events, process admissions via a Guest List on the front door as this allows a personal touch. Our prices remain consistent to our bar and restaurant as this is all on the same till system. Prices are set to remain fair and in keeping with the collective hospitality venues in Burton Upon Trent. Thank you again for taking the time to feedback, I shall share your feedback with our management team as they plan to continue to improve our events year on year.
