About
Re-opened in 2010, the Centre incorporates the former Bass Museum and tells the story of the birthplace of british beer, its people and the history of brewing in the UK. Our tour guides offer tours at 11.00am and 2.00pm, bringing stories to life. Sample some of the excellent real ales brewed at the Centre's Heritage Brewery or enjoy a bar meal or a full flagon banquet in our restaurant with a beer and food guide to help you appreciate the flavours of beer. The Centre's corporate and function rooms (and our 400 capacity permanent marquee) are set in the historic brewery buildings and offer a great venue for your company function, weddings, parties and social gatherings.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wow what an amazing attraction. It was way better than I was expecting. Full of fantastic stuff. Spent a few hours there and still didn’t see it all. A real gem of a place. Jeff the guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. But £6.95 for chip butter was a real spoiler when chips on there own was £3.50. Shame on you for that.

A wonderful collection which charts the history of Brewing in the town from the Monks of the 11th Century, through the history of Bass and other Brewery's in the town up until the Present Day.

But catch it whilst you can as this Internationally important center is closing at the end of October 2022 to make way for office-space for Molson-Coors and in so doing removing from view a collection of over 1,000,000 artifacts, stationary engines, vehicles and the mighty Shire horse stables and denying access to a significant industrial heritage site that includes Grade 2 listed Victorian brewery buildings.

That is of course unless we campaign to stop it! Sadly I can't tell you how to do this in my review but google is your friend.

I went to a Soul/Motown event in their marquee..totally shambolic!! I ordered a small Prosecco cost me £7.50! And to make matters worse I was given a flimsy plastic cup to drink it out of! I complained and asked for a glass of which there was plentiful behind the bar. Only to be told that only plastic cups for events!! However there were numerous people with drinking glasses sitting at the tables. I bought this to the Barmans attention..his reply was they have come from the main bar and shouldn’t really bring them in!! But he refused to do anything about it!! I think whoever is responsible for these events need to have one rule only!! I realise that drinks can be expensive and I’m quite happy to pay that in a nice bar…but I do not expect to pay that sort of price at a brewery in a tent that only provides plastic cups!! This was my first visit and definitely will be the last!

Hello Sylv56 Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to be reading that a Mini Prosecco bottle was not to your delight on price. We advertise all our prices at the bar and after your conversation, our Barman worked with the guests using glass to exchange to plastic. You are absolutely right, they should not have snuck past, and so grateful that you bought this to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you to a future event.

I am a Burtonian I left Burton upon Trent many years ago due to nursing. I returned with two Dutch friends last week. I booked a guided tour. An amazing experience. The Museum was well worth a visit. As a child I spent many hours with my father at the brewer long before Health and safety regulations. The guided tour of the museum bought back many memories.
The Staff were friendly and helpful. Our Guide was entertaining. Thank you

We hired a room for a reunion of roughly 55 people with food and DJ,
The room was a good size, bar not great so had to go to another bar for ales etc,
Staff nice, DJ brilliant, (booked separate)
Food was rubbish, didn’t taste the very bland looking chicken, had some chilli, well mince really as it certainly didn’t have much actual chilli in, it wasn’t hot and there was no rice with it, so chilli, veg and uncooked new potatoes, very poor and mostly tasteless ... quite disgusted for the price we paid, very sure most of us won’t be going back for this kind of event ...

Hello petersN6395XP Thank you for your feedback and pleased that you were able to take advantage of both bars open on the day of your event. I am shocked to read that the food offering was not as expected from your booking with the team and shall be investigating. Thank you again for your feedback as we wish to continue to develop and grow our offer for our guests.

Good day out. Wonderfull Brewing memorabilia, Shire Horses and a restaurant too. Interesting exhibits including a working model Train exhibit of Burton in the past when the Trains did all the work. Go early have a good browse round and have a pub lunch at the on site Brewery Tap restaurant & Bar.

Hello Archie C We did face a very surreal challenge with the water pressure at one point to the site and our landlords have been investigating. We have improved this and the feedback and results are much better. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
