Gassed out of a 100% marks.
Arriving at the venue everything was as expected, simple booking online allowed quick access to the ice rink for us and our party. Staff are friendly and polite with enough capacity to answer questions and point you in the correct direction when needed. Once we were at the skate pick-up zone everything again was smooth getting served quickly. If you have valuables you don’t want to take on the rink, be aware you need additional money to rent a locker which is not refundable. The ice rink and ice track/ circuit are really good fun. With the small rink acting as a training ground for unsure skaters making the venue very family friendly. My only complaint is the staff have to use a petrol powered tractor unit to piste the snow on the kids slope located in the middle of the ice track. Within the two hour session this happened at least twice possibly 3 times filling the venue with exhaust fumes which were very noticeable and honestly a bit of a shocker. Would I go back… yes, loved it, we all did… do I wish they would stop pumping a place you’re exercising in full of fumes absolutely.

Brilliant day on the learn to snowboard in a day course
Brilliant day with Adam F and Jamie, half my age and taught me alot in a day. Lunch was good food wise, felt an hour and a half was a bit long though and took valuable time away from the slope. The group I was with were very friendly and inclusive which is always nice. Decent facilities inside and out even with the building work going on downstairs. Would I go again? 100% I will, once my legs and generally everything stop hurting

    Late afternoon skiing. Perfect 👍
A great late afternoon skiing. The team and the conditions where perfect. Myself and my partner had a couple of hours practice whilst my grandson had his level 3 ski lesson. The instructor was brilliant and very patient. Would highly recommend having starter lessons there.

Brilliant family day but come prepared for the cold
Amazing day out. Travelled up 2 hours. Had a blast. We as a family swam first then had the snow fun then 2 hours ice skating. I will say I wasn't warned how cold it was. I know it advised coats and gloves but I wasn't prepared enough. All very friendly helpful staff. Food was deliousious. Would come again. Thank you

    Best family fun
This was our 2nd visit to the Snowdome with our grandchildren. As they’re only aged 2&4 we only took them into the snow park which is amazing. Although you’re only allowed 30 mins this is plenty as younger children get very cold quickly. Helmets must be worn which I didn’t think my autistic grandson would wear, but he followed suit and copied others wearing them. It’s a great fun time for all ages.

    Ice skating fun
We had a lovely time, went on a Saturday and it was great fun...ice stewards were friendly and accommodating and so were skate hire staff..only downside is that the ice does get very churned up and its not resurfaced between many of the sessions. Thank you will definitely visit again . 😊

    A great day
I booked on to the Learn to Parallel Ski in a day - I was the only one booked on. Whilst I missed the opportunity to learn alongside others, I had 1:1 tuition from Willie. I made progress and all the staff were friendly and supportive. The meal as part of the day was lovely.

This was our first visit to the SnowDome, as a group of reasonably experienced leisure skiers. Parking etc was fine as was booking online. There are 2 or 3 hour passes but in reality if you can ski to any standard 60-90 mins is probably more than enough. I felt it could have been more organised on arrival. There was a shortage of lockers which was annoying if you are carrying kit. I think it would be better if you were issued a locker key on registering at the front desk, and there were enough for the people booked on each session. Also, when booking it might be good if you can input height/weight etc so that skis are ready to collect but this is a small thing. Also, the ski poles were all mixed up and it took quite a while to root out a pair of the correct size. This is another example of how it could be more organised. The slope is around 179m with a left hand turn 1/4 way down. There is a single drag lift that goes 3/4 way and a travelator that goes to the top. It was quite busy with lessons etc but people learning to ski is a good thing! I don’t know how the snow is normally here but it was quite poor. Lots of ice, extremely hard and not especially groomed. Some UK indoor slopes have bashed piste type snow but I couldn’t see any evidence of this or of snow making machines. Also, it clearly states that helmets must be worn but there were a number of people not wearing them. Especially as the snow was like concrete, and there were lots of novices and children this is really not cool. There is a restaurant and facilities but we didn’t use that. Overall it was ok. I would go again but probably would try others first before coming back here.

Unfortunately our first visit to the Snow Dome left us frustrated and disappointed. I booked a 3hr, fast track 1 ski lesson for my two sons (8 &11), in preparation for their first ski holiday. According to the website, group sizes are a maximum of 10 persons, but on arrival we discovered that the group was 20 people with 2 instructors. I assume this is to maximise throughput and revenue, but with complete beginners this ratio is far from conducive to a positive learning experience!
As a result of this, the ski area was over crowded, the lift queues were too long and most importantly the safety of the group was compromised. This resulted in a number of injuries to the participants as out of control skiers crashed into those queuing at the bottom of the slope! At least 2 people couldn’t continue and had to leave due to the injuries they sustained.
In closing, my children left the Snow Dome having skied for less than 30 minutes in a 3 hour lesson costing £164. They arrived in a very excited, positive mood looking forward to learning to ski and left upset and not want to ever ski again! Thanks Tamworth SnowDome!

It was busy and chaotic. Kept being redirected to ‘check in’. Nobody checked ticket. Eventually there was a queue downstairs by the Snow Fun Park but this wasn’t clear if it was just to go in or get checked in, all very confusing especially with young children. You could quite easily walk in without booking or having tickets as we just got waved through. Then when in there, it was very very busy (overbooked?), and all done and ushered out after 25 minutes. £27 for a family of 4 for 25 mins is a rip off, especially when it was so overbooked. The slope with the rings to slide down was fun and the kids enjoyed it, just a shame it is so poorly managed. Won’t be going back.

We booked alongside my brother and his family for a tobogganing day ticket as part of our Christmas presents to each other. The day began with swimming which was extremely busy which started with queuing for a cubicle to get changed, queuing to use the inflatable in the main pool queuing to use the flume. There were so many people in the pool it was difficult to do a small amount of swimming alongside my children using the inflatable. That said the children did enjoy it, just not the queue to get into a cubicle once again to get changed. Next was tobogganing which was lots of fun, stewards are very helpful and rush on to help people when necessary. Ice skating was the final part and a two hour slot so lots of time to skate. Very busy so much so that the skate hire was empty so had to use an alternative entrance and hire kiosk. So many people again but we did still enjoy the experience, more so as people left and therefore was more space.
Pros: fun activities, spending time together as a family.
Cons: price- went up significantly from the previous year, too many people allowed into each session, changing rooms need updating (family changing would be great), activity times were very close together so had to leave swimming early and only 30 mins to grab a snack for lunch.

Will probably choose somewhere else for a fun day out next year - sad as we've loved it for the previous 3 years!

So took the boys at 1030am Christmas Eve to the inflatable swim, busy session to be expected, but disappointed teens and adults were loud and wild on the inflatable and pool staff did not really curtail behaviour. Fortunately our boys were tired after 45 mins so cut our swim short to avoid the group.

Returned 4/1/2020 for tobogganing, in our opinion an over booked session, we waited to avoid this until 4th Jan as our boys have ADHD. They did not get to the bottom of the traveler until 10mins into the session and only manage 3 slides until session promptly end. Not value for money very disappointed, as a local resident we can visit again with ease, but wound be Extremely disappointed if had travelled further.
Staff could have managed queue better by starting handing out toboggans to alight the traveller slightly ahead of time?
Our boys were disappointed on our second visit. Could not complain at the time to staff on the evening as dealing with a melt down of unhappy children.
Have emailed guest services, they have not responded. ☹️

I have 3 children afed 5, 7 and 9 so finding something for them all to enjoy that doesn't cost the earth in the holidays is always hard!
We booked the day ticket which included 1.5 hours swimming with the inflatables, 55 minutes on the climbing wall and 2 hours ice skating.
We all had an absolute blast and it was brilliant value for money (it was £98 for the 4 of us Or there abouts, less than £100)
With the 3 different activities it meant they all enjoyed themselves, they preferred different activities but were able to participate in all of them.
I also felt like it wasnt overbooked in each session, even though it was fully booked you didnt feel crammed in like sardines.
The only negative would be the changing rooms for the swimming, its quite cramped and there isnt alot of changing rooms or benches. We ended up getting changed and unchanged in a corner, even though we left 10 minutes before the end of the session to try to not get squished (and all our stuff got soaked 😬) and the lockers are tiny!

At £45 for a two hour lift pass it’s by far not the cheapest indoor snow experience, but unfortunately it it the most poorly managed. Due to a narrow slope and zero control of the lessons and learners it becomes almost impossible to ride the slope. The instructors take learners all across the slope at the middle until it is almost completely blocked with people whom can barely stand. Everyone has to learn right! Then why aren’t there any learner only time slots and time slots that for people have basic skills and want to improve without fear a complete novice isn’t going to take them out. Then there’s the fact that the slopes not bashed first thing so the slope is just compacted ice with rails and kickers from the night before. Rails and kickers not really a problem on their own but when you add sheet ice and a slope full of complete novices it makes for an awful experience then you remember it cost £45 for this awful experience just to add insult to injury. This seems so easy to solve with basic management, Bash the piste before letting people in, arrange skill based learner only session times/ times where no learners/ complete novices allowed. This ideas are not rocket science and yet seemingly implausible, at the very least the instructors need to have better control over the learners and confine them to half of the slope, which might mean smaller groups so I doubt that will happen either.

3 adults had learn to ski in day. 2 children had private lessons and lift pass hire for 2 hours. 2 adults had just the lift pass hire for 3 hours. Total cost of day over £800
Learn to ski day which cost a fortune was fun ~ but 19 in group with 2 instructors meant lots of waiting about. If you need to learn to ski then a private 1 hour lesson would be almost as beneficial. The children's one to one lessons were brilliant with great enthusiastic young instructors. Fabulous place with absolutely loads to do for all ages ~ and even though incredibly expensive, we will be back l am sure

Recently visited the Snowdome (Feb 8th) for some pre holiday lessons with friends. We had two instructors, John and Ryan who taught us the basic snowplough and stops. As a someone who has never skied before, this really did boost my confidence. I was disappointed overall with the lesson because we paid £99 for an over 16’s 3 hour lesson, yet our group was full of really young children, some as young as 9. Not only that, when booking we were told there would be a maximum of 10 per instructor, yet we had a lot more than 20 people on our course, making it almost impossible for John and Ryan to split their time between everyone. I understand that people progress at a different speed, but myself and my friend had ‘mastered’ the basics during the first hour and proceeded to learn nothing else during the next 2 hours. We were grateful for the practice time but disappointed that the instructors had no time to show us anything else, due to the volume of other people on our lesson. For these reasons, I would not recommend booking lessons here — especially when you are paying quite a lot of money for a service that doesn’t match what they describe on their website.

Our now 5 year old started snowboard lessons in October, commencing with the intro and gradually going up through kinder 1,2 & now 3.

Lessons do seem to vary a lot based on individual instructors styles and what they focus on. In a group of 6 students, they don’t get a lot of time/runs but for us this has balanced out with other times being 1:2 or even 1:1 (1:3 is probably ideal for younger ones over the 45 minutes as our son is tired from walking back up the slope). Also add in to this that younger kids will vary from lesson to lesson based on how tired/distracted they are, however the progress made has been brilliant especially as we’ve used to Christmas break to get in lessons every few days rather than every couple of weeks, so he has come on loads.

Definitely with investing in membership before starting lessons as it pays back over five lessons and what we hadn’t realised (& we’d had 6 or 7 lessons before joining) is that you do get other benefits from membership, such as 2 free sessions, member rate vouchers for friends and discounts off the Aspen bar food and the Ellis Brigham shop.

We’ve also had our sons last two birthday parties in the snow play. Lesson from first time was that we booked for exclusive use the second time and paid per child for food. and this was a much improved experience as with up to 70 people allowed in, parents could all go too
