We have just come back from a great afternoon on the aqua park, a great way to spend a sunny afternoon. It was fabulous fun for the kids (mine are aged 10, 8 &7) and I enjoyed it too. Due to the current circumstances we were the only family on the aqua park and we were designated are own private lifeguard who was really friendly and made us feel at ease . He encouraged the children to try new things and even challenged us to beat the best time on the racing track. I would highly recommend this for all families with children that love a challenge and want to keep active. Best fun we have had in ages will definitely be returning .

We (2 adults and 3 children aged 9 and 5) visited on Saturday 8th Aug. We arrived for the first slot (11am). There was a very small queue and plenty of space to distance in the open air spectator/changing area. However, later in the day this area seemed very busy and there were adults enjoying the sun and drinking so we would definitely stick with an early slot. Toilets are open and were very clean in the morning, not so clean at the end of the day (5pm) but still okay to use.

Myself and the two older children went on the Aqua Park which was great fun (expect it to be a little hard to climb in places). One of our children found it too challenging and got off after 15 minutes or so. Be aware that there will be children and teenagers in the aqua park unsupervised which effects social distancing. I didn't find this too much of a problem but did have to tell a few children to wait their turn as per the safety brief. During the Covid pandemic it might be more appropriate to have all children supervised.

We had hot dogs (tinned) from the BBQ - they were nice but perhaps a little expensive. Please note it is a simple BBQ and nothing flashy! You will probably still need a picnic if spending the whole day!

After the aqua park we went around to the splash area. This was a great experience. Clean, tidy and no crowds. Older boys spent all day in the water and my youngest was happy to sit and play in the sand pit (shame someone took our spade!).

Only three minor gripes... no lids on the take away coffee cups which is a little dangerous, the sun beds are uncomfortable particularly if you have a bad back and my biggest dislike, staff and others smoking around the children. However, these things would not stop us visiting again.

Just got back from an unforgettable time for my daughters birthday. We hired the water park for an hour and Richard was so helpful
Brad gave us a safety brief then we were In. What a great time we all had with brad interacting and setting the kids challenges
They absolutely loved it from start to finish
Round 2 and we were off with Ollie for a water ski and wakeboarding lesson for my 10 year old daughter
Again Ollie was great with the kids so much time and patience. They both came away absolutely beaming
What a great time from start to finish could not fault a thing and such a friendly place
Highly recommend

The Aqua park itself is good fun, large enough to keep you occupied for an hour.

If I said the changing facilities were basic, that would be generous. Literally in the open air, but sectioned off for males and females. There are shipping containers which can be used to change if it's raining.

They have wetsuits for all sizes, detailed safety brief and I found it was a
great confidence builder for young kids swimming in open water.

It was an overcast day and the water was warmer than I expected. However, there were people physically shivering, including one of my little one's who was 10.

I know it's in open water, but a couple of the obstacles were filled with weeds and look nasty. But yes I would certainly go again, but want a day where it's 24/25 degrees.

We booked two sessions for wakeboarding and were unsure about viewing area for one visitor (group of 3 of us). So we called up and spoke to a gentleman on the phone who was more than helpful and said our spectator could actually come in the boat with us!

When we arrived, we were greeted by a man named Ollie. Ollie was our trainer for the afternoon as we’d never been wakeboarding before. He honestly was the most friendly, patient and best teacher we could have asked for. We had a bit of banter but he was an excellent teacher.

We’d gone for a friends birthday and he didn’t want to go first so I went first. I was fortunate enough to actually get up and surf the wake first time of trying and he very quickly adapted his teaching to what he described as “lesson 3 or 4”. He’d gone through all the things that could happen (like falling front on and how to get on your back again) before we even tried being pulled by the boat.

After I’d done my runs, my friend was up and he struggled to get up but Ollie was super patient and gave him a few goes with advice in between of taking it step by step and not rushing etc. After those attempts, he made it up and did two runs. Ollie joined in with our excitement and he was as supportive as someone can be.

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough and I will 100% be going back. We did not try the aqua park but it looks a heck of a lot of fun!

Also a bit thank you to Ollie for making our friends birthday one to remember!

Hi, I came to cliff lakes yesterday and had an amazing time in the hot sun on the aqua park. All of the staff were super helpful in getting me and the rest in my family onto the park as quickly as possible. On the park itself some of the lifeguards were super enthusiastic and willing to help. I don’t remember the lifeguards name but my kids were both on the swing and he taught them how the swing worked and reassured them that they’d be safe worth there life jackets. (The lifeguard was a tall lad with orange sunglasses on his head) I would definitely recommend an afternoon at cliff lakes to any family who enjoy their water sports

Thank you all

The actual aqua park is brilliant. However, today our experience was spoilt by being given completely unsuitable wetsuits for the weather conditions. Our party of 5 children were all given short wetsuits, the two smallest were given suits that were very baggy on them. We were there at the allotted time but the changing areas were very busy and it was a rush to get ready in time for the briefing so we weren’t able to see if there was anything better on offer and just hoped for the best!
Once everyone got in the water, they were quickly freezing, one child lasted 15 minutes before going so cold and blue-lipped he had to get out, the next lasted half an hour, and the others lasted a little longer. All of them were just so cold afterwards, something I feel could be avoided had they been given full length wetsuits suitable for the overcast, windy weather today (or at the very least suits that fitted properly- one member of our party was absolutely fine with his own full length suit on). It is a shame it is all so rushed at the beginning and no one is checking the fit of the suits.
Having paid £120 for the six people to take part, I do feel disappointed that the experience couldn’t be enjoyed properly. The children were upset that they couldn’t continue as they were really enjoying the park, they tried to make the best of it but had to give up and it then took ages for them to properly warm up afterwards. Such a shame as last time we came we had a great time (on a warmer day!). Obviously it’s the UK, the weather is unpredictable, but if the right wetsuits are provided, the activity could definitely still be enjoyed whatever the temperature.

I would not hesitate to recommend Cliff Lakes for anybody wanting a bit of fun and is not scared of the water.
They provide wetsuits and life jackets, so that makes falling into the lake that much more pleasant! I would recommend buying their socks as it gives you a bit more grip on the inflatables.
Staff were friendly enough and the manager was great in reassuring my son, who was a bit apprehensive to start with, but really enjoyed it and wants to go back the next time we are in the area!
We went later in the day which seemed a little bit quieter.

You can make the experience as 'exciting / thrill seeking' as you want as there are plenty of different obstacles.

Plenty of car parking.

All in all a really enjoyable experience.

A group of eight children (ages 9-15) had a wonderful day on Sunday. We originally couldn't book in to the Aqua Park and settled for the Paddle boarding and Wake boarding/skiing. The boatman Ollie was so accommodating and helpful. The children had a great time. The paddle boarding was great too. However the children salivated over the Aqua Park and as soon as I asked if there was space, the young man behind reception was incredibly helpful and managed to sort this out for us. The children loved it and it was the best bit for them and a huge success.

The only reason I am not giving this a five star is that if they refuse picnics then they need to have a decent cafe that serves a range of food. A burger van for hundreds of people isn't good enough really. And also the loos weren't great by the end of the day. They definitely needed to be cleaned during the day. But it didn't stop us having a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend the venue. A huge thank you to the staff who were fabulous and made a significant difference to our stay.

Took 2 teenagers yesterday to go on the aqua park inflatables for an hour. Life jackets and wetsuits provided but we used our own wetsuits. There was plenty of seating for spectators right next to the equipment so easy to take photos. Personal items can be left in a locker (bring your own padlock or buy one) or leave your items in a bag on benches and tables in the open unisex changing area. The teens had loads of fun climbing the inflatables. They got 30 minutes on the white and blue side of the aqua park then 30 mins on the yellow and green side inflatables. Plenty of life guards on the equipment. Reason for only giving it 4 stars - my son jumped off the high white iceberg rock-wall and his feet hit the lake floor/a rock under the water which jarred his body. This could have had terrible consequences. I will add he was meant to jump off this inflatable and was not doing something that was not allowed.
