Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First time visiting but definitely not the last! Great service, lovely cocktails and simple but good food. The amount of games makes it difficult to pick but really fun to be able to try something new. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly - 10/10.

22-Apr-23 The Ludoquist: Visited for a date on a Saturday lunchtime. Most visitors were families or teenage groups. The place is very well organised. The buzzer system to call staff for help or food / drink is great, and the service was excellent. Plenty of drinks choices: hot / cold plus alcoholic options. Pizza was decent and a generous size.

This is a really fun afternoon. It really is unbelievable how many games they have. The staff are friendly and on hand if you need them, but also give you space to get on and play without interruption! I would highly recommend.

Been here three times now (Valentine's, birthday, visiting long distance friends) and had a fantastic experience each time.
Extremely helpful and polite staff!
Most recently we ended up running late for our reservation due to being stuck waiting for food elsewhere, the Ludoquist staff were very polite and accommodating!
On the way there we had all named games we wanted to play and hoped they had, they had every one! Fantastic experience!
Thank you all so much.

It is an amazing cafe, it has every single board game you could think of, starting from simple fun games all the way to epics like Gloomhaven. It is by far the best value board game cafe in London, the food and drinks are great, the staff very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is great.

Ludoquist is one of the only reasons I journey down to Croydon nowadays. It’s such an amazing establishment with a wide range of board games to both play and sell. Ludoquist manages to be the heart of Croydon’s community thanks to its staff, whose hard work shows through their customer service and the delicious food they serve. I would recommend this place to everybody under the sun, regardless of age, as it’s truly a place everyone will enjoy.

Fantastic venue, great friendly staff team, great food and a large selection of craft beers and ciders. They have every board game you can think of. Not to forget a very nice chilled friendly atmosphere. Our new regular and place of choice 10/10 I highly recommend this venue.

We were in Croydon for a show and had half hour spare so thought we would pop in for a drink.
We loved the concept of having board games to play whilst having a drink.
The atmosphere was lovely and the variety of games was plentiful.
The only issue we had was even we paid we were asked if we had played any games. Having played 3 games of guess who we said said only to be charged £12 . At no point was we told there was a charge for playing games and there was no signage to say so either.
We think visitors should be advised of this charge when they are seated as only then can a mindful decision be made as to whether you wish to pay that amount for 3 games of guess who...
Obviously we understand that they want to charge for the experience and had we been there longer we would have made use of more games.
We had said when we were seated we were just there for a quick drink.
We think maybe a sign to say on entry ot for the employess to advise customers would be beneficial as on this occasion we wouldn't have played any games due to lack of time and value.
The actual place was lovely it's just a shame we were not informed of this as it marred the experience.

The atmosphere is lovely, the cafe is very cheap and you cannot ask for a better game selection! This is my go to day out spot with my girlfriend and we have developed a love for Baird games because of the Ludoquist! We love how we can play new games and find favourites to then buy for our home. I have been to all the board game cafes in London and the Ludoquist is hands down the best because of the staff, selection, atmosphere and price.
