This pub which was formerly is one we use on a regular basis for our reunion meetings. It has retained a previous interior features and is most comfortable with a pleasant ambience and friendly staff .There is a wide range of real ales and although the quality of food has been variable its not bad value..It also hosts a quiz and a cinema club.

I visited here for a pint of real ale and enjoyed sitting on one of the comfy sofas. Nice beer and nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Came here with my family for my Birthday with hopes of a nice Roast Dinner followed by the pub quiz, we arrived in good time to eat but we should not of bothered as we couldn't order any food. We ordered a round of drinks, 5 drinks come to just under £30 which I thought was pretty pricey for Croydon! Tried to order some food but were informed they had sold out completely of Roast Dinners, that was fine so we all picked something else. We all tried to then order Pies, but were then informed they were also sold out! We finally tried the Fish & Chips... and yes, you guessed it! They had ran out of that too! We decided to give up completely and just have drinks and eat somewhere else after the quiz. The Quiz started and we had a great time, the host was lovely, good range of questions and we actually ended up winning the quiz which was a surprise! Would recommend the quiz but was very disappointed with the lack of food options, nor the service as the server didn't inform us of all the items out of stock and let us come back to the bar 3 different times to try and order food which I thought was odd and time wasting.

Visited this lovely looking pub today, beautiful from the outside and very welcoming on the inside. Myself, my husband and my teenage daughter dropped in at lunchtime after a morning shopping in Croydon. Found a comfortable table with two couches and settled in for a drink. All was well until I ordered the second drink while we were deciding what we would order from the menu.... Drinks ordered and paid for, I was asked by a member of staff to move from our table to the other side of the pub because children were only allowed on the right hand side of the bar ?????? I enquired again, and asked why?, only to be told this was pub policy. My 5ft 5 teen "child" who was annoyed to be dragged away from her screen, never mind the comfy couch we were occupying, obviously was annoying the one other customer on that side of the pub??? Have never been so embarrassed in a pub and on reflection there were no signs to explain any policy regarding children. The policy, especially unwritten , would appear to discriminate against families. The drinks which were slightly overpriced were extremely bitter to the taste as we rushed to leave from our less comfortable seats.

Hi Catherine, many thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately we do have a pub policy for children. We do allow them in the majority of the pub, the dining area (right hand side of the bar), upstairs and outside. This is because, unfortunately, not all children are so well behaved and 5ft 5. I imagine life would be so much simpler if they all were. Rather than broadcasting this through signs we ask our bar staff to inform customers. Unfortunately it appears on this occasion our staff have not noticed in time and for this i can only apologise.
