We spent approx 5 hours wandering around this fantastic well preserved slice of English heritage. Walking through the various rooms made 16th century English history really come alive. If possible arrive at opening time to avoid the large bus groups. I hour by bus No 111 from Heathrow Airport or 40 minutes by train from London's Waterloo station.

The grounds are large. The rooms and architecture were amazing. I like the Chapel which is still working. My son loved getting lost in the maze. Remember to buy tickets which is close to the entrance and note the closing times.

Traveled to Hampton Court from Oxford with study group and had a really lovely afternoon. Pleased the crowds or the size of the castle and grounds were not too overwhelming. Lots of space and nice to see families with children out for the day. Enjoyed the variety: medieval kitchens replete with staff in costume period putting real chickens on the... More

This place is just great and the location is perfect, there's no rush and ever visit is relaxing. The statues at the entrance grab your attention and the brick patterns in the chimnys are just amazing. A walk by the riverside just completes your trip.

It was very helpful that the sun was out and made the day even better! Skating today, a little crowded, but fun in the winter sunshine. There's a place to have a hot chocolate and something stronger too. Small menu.

We loved visiting Hampton Court Palace, especially after viewing "The Tudors" TV series on Netflix. The cost was $25 pp. We took the train, using our unlimited zone 6 travel pass. They offer serval different types of free tour, including DIY audio. It was a fun day, and I highly recommend going to Hampton Court Palace.

Always wanted to visit and it didn't disappoint when we did. Well organised into different tours with audio info. We did Henrys kitchens, Henry viii apartments plus William and Mary. It was too cold for the gardens but they looked beautiful. Will return in summer I think. It seems expensive when you arrive but you get a lot and is... More

What can I say, the place speaks for itself. Its not cheap to start with but you get so much from visiting it. We took family and our 2 year old son and we parked off site, although moved to the grounds later - parking just down the road was £1.50 per hour and £1.60 at the grounds. We started... More

It is a bit out of the way but easy to get to. You have an audio guide and pamphlet on self guided tours throughout the palace. You are free to walk the grounds as well. This is at your own pace (fast if you like, or spending lots of time to look and read). The train station is a... More
