Great family pub

I visited in September 2016 with my wife and toddler. There is plenty of outside seating and a slide/climbing frame for kids. The service is friendly and the food and drink... read more

Disappointing family Sunday lunch. Whilst environment and drinks are great, the food is very poor compared to previous visits a year ago. Roast beef was too finely sliced and lost in the gravy. It was also very fatty without much meat. Rest of family also disappointed with roast beef/chicken dishes.

A group of us went for dinner and everything seems to have taken a nose dive. I recommend here and was really embarrassed at how the meal turned out. The food was very poor, fish in soggy batter, vegetables not 'defrosted'/cold. One burger as almost completely raw. The deserts was bad too. I'm not sure how you burn the life... More

I visited in September 2016 with my wife and toddler. There is plenty of outside seating and a slide/climbing frame for kids. The service is friendly and the food and drink good. Only complaint is that we ordered 3 meals but only 2 sets of cutlery were brought out. And the sausage rolls were cold. And the staff sit in... More

Visited with a friend on a Friday evening after 8. We had a shared platter of pate, dried meat etc which was very nice. We had a bottle of SB, not chilled enough, however after a while in the ice bucket it improved. (Initially we had to add ice to chill Arrg!! A great pub for families not a place... More

Following its extensive alterations about 18 months ago this pub was very good. However, the service has now gone very downhill and the food quality has also deteriorated - now overall 5.5/10. Regretfully, the previous clientele - have not gone elsewhere and what is in many ways a very attractive dining pub is ruined by loud and vulgar group of... More

Nice local pub that caters for families, friends and couples. Pretty relaxed atmosphere, and the food is good. Much better decor since its refurbishment. I wouldn't recommend for a romantic or special place to go, but it's a pub so wouldn't be surprising! Happy to go when in the mood for a pub lunch.

We had been there for a drink once with the son, daughter-in-law and grandsons - they live nearby and go there regularly. It is a fantastic pub with quality decor and quirky stuff everywhere. We went there yesterday and ordered food. All did not go strictly according to plan and was not 100% satisfactory, including the amount of time we... More

Since the refurbishment I visited The Spring Grove in August 2015, for an afternoon drink. It was enough to book an evening visit with friends later in the year for food and drink. A further visit in January 2016 with two young teenagers (& the dog) reaffirmed this is now a family favourite. Dogs allowed, always a nice touch considering... More

The makeover has actually improved this venue, whether you are dining or just socialising. Our previous 'local' lost character and focus after a refurbishment so re-discovering the lively, friendly atmosphere at the 'Spring' was a big win.

I love this pub and the food is consistently fantastic. The outdoor space is great with a covered heated awning, tables and play area for children, they also provide blankets, should you need them. The restaurant manager is friendly and attentive. Though bar staff are a mixed bag and drinks rather pricey. I think many pubs in the area should... More
