Been phoning and emailing these people for two months before coming to Inverell. Never get a reply. Inverell Visitor Information Centre won't give a straight answer to enquiries about what is happening. Don't waste your time.

I will never recommend this dump to anyone. Keep driving up to Billabong. Not worth wasting your time.

We found less sapphires than at Billabong Blue next door, but that could just be the luck of the day. The access road requires a 4x4. The dunny is very basic and doesn't smell good. There is a tap with drinking water and with a...More

Lots of fun fossicking for sapphires - you will almost certainly find some, but don't expect to make a fortune -- you'd have to be lucky to even find enough to make up the $20 fee. Tranquil location with a basic food prep area, and...More

We have visited here on several occasions with mixed results but love the serenity of the place. On this occasion, we tried the agitator machine ($40 for 30 buckets) which does a very quick job of sieving but costs more. We only got two reasonable...More

We decided to try our hands at fossicking for sapphire in Inverell, the Sapphire Capital of Australia. The Seven (7) Oaks Fossicking was recommended to us by a friend who is friends with the owners and likes to send business their way. It’s a short...More

The track in to the actual site passes by the owners house. It's a bit rough for caravans so take care. Otherwise 4wds have no worries. Sapphire bearing wash is dug straight from the creek at this location. It's then dumped right beside the sieving...More

We arrived at Seven Oaks and were immediately welcomed by the friendly owner. Fantastic place for the kids to run around and have a bit of fun fossicking through the dirt. Would recommend this place to anyone.
