A very important reminder of our past and I say our as a European Australian [white fella] the manner in which canoes were crafted from the tree and moulded into shape was very revealing of the ingenuity of our indigenous peoples.

The area around Wentworth is very interesting and include a lot of history including the Canoe Tree. The signage gives the visitor a history of the tree. Worth a visit to the area

I've seen quite a few canoe trees in my travels around Oz. But this is probably one of the best I've seen. Absolutely magnificent. Also the location is a great picturesque spot
