This was our second visit (the last time was 9 years ago), but we enjoyed visiting again. The staff are very happy to help and are very knowledgeable.

Went here 8 years ago but arrived too late in the afternoon but went back last year and it is really worth the time to absorb all the exhibits as well as the tradgedy which is portrayed very well

We thoroughly enjoyed this museum and would highly recommend it to others. The information centre was largely staffed by volunteers who were welcoming and knowledgeable. Our 12 & 14 year old kids enjoyed the interactive displays of which there are plently. So many museums are a 'no touch' zone yet this one encourages people to have a go at operating... More

This was a good mix of the history and information of the mine and the development of the Beaconsfield area. It had lots of displays of the everyday things people would do and use in the past with lots of interactive displays that allowed the kids to be actively involved. The staff are friendly and informative and the exhibits are... More

The museum is very clean and well-looked after. Children can look for a list of animals throughout their walk around the exhibits and may receive a little prize if they find them all (or try very hard). The museum provides display of old communication equipment and machinery. Our children loved the old dial telephones. They're set up so that they... More

A very well presented, informative and interactive display. It was my 10 year old daughters second visit and she was still as engrossed as the first time. Lots of interactive things to involve children. The story of rescuing the trapped miners particularly interesting especially after we had seen the movie. Easily spent a couple of hours there.

What an absolutley amazing exhibit. Having followed the disasster on TV the memorial that has been created takes you back thru all the emotions of the event. there is also one of the best phone exhibits I have seen. It was also the cheapest at a very affordable $12.00. The staff where great and very helpful. Its a must see.
