The starting point is opposite a farm house about 2 kms before the turn off for Trousers Point and it's easy to miss as parking is at the side of the road. There are no amenities on site. The walk is steep and quite strenuous...More

I didn’t do the famous walk up the mountain, but did fall in love with Trousers Point beach. It is spectacular - a huge crescent of beautiful sand, backed by Bush land and the mountain, all pristine. Crystal clear water, red rocks, picture perfect. This...More

We drove up the road towards the National Park. Due to lack of signage, and, not wanting to find ourselves at a dead end as times before we decided to turn right to Trousers Point Beach & Fotheringate Beach. At least we knew there would...More

Rode a loop around Mount Strzelecki on my mountain bike, anticlockwise from the end of Big River Road. An amazing ride of 48 kms taking in everything from secluded beaches, stands of grass trees, fern gullies, rain forest, granite outcrops and much more ... all...More

The Mt Strzelecki summit (the highest peak on Flinders Island at 756m) is reached by a steep and well-marked track to the top. It offers great views, although it's often shrouded by cloud/mist even when the rest of the island is clear. It's considered best...More

Going up had some pretty heavy steps and climbing from rock to rock. It was a constant uphill slog for about two hours. However, well worth the effort and we had a nice sunny day at the top and the views over the Island were...More

The peak can often be covered in cloud but we got great views between the clouds. The walk took around 4 hours including lunch and many photo stops. The top is a bit steep and exposed but there is a great viewing platform 20 minutes...More

I think if you take your time most people could do this walk, it has a lot of steps or rocks you have to step up on. I would take water and it is quite steep in some spots but on a clear day the view is worth it 😁
