If you can't walk up then the chair lift is the best option. We did the chair lift and from there we walked around the top. Breathtaking views of Stanley . They are fixing up the walk ways at the moment.Take some water with you and there is also a great picnic area with tables and benches.

The weather wasn't great when we visited so we jumped on the chairlift up and walked down the hill. Good views well worth the effort.

We got the chair lift up and walked down. The circular walk is easy with good look out areas where you can see the surrounding areas. You will almost certainly encounter paddy melons on the walk.

Take the chair lift to the top for a great 360degree view of this amazing coastline and surrounds. Or if able walk to top and return.

A must see. The Nut is the lava core of a volcano, the top of it is well vegetated. Mutton bird burrows, protocols, lookouts & avoid walk. Walk up if you are fit enough or enjoy the return trip on the chairlift. I suggest walking round clockwise as there are a lot of steps the other way if you are... More

The Nut is famous around Australia. You can access it on foot and by car to the car park. To get to the top which is about 200 metres above sea level you can either take the chair lift or hike it up a long very steep track. You will need above average fitness to do it this way. Which... More

We had two nights in Stanley primarily to visit the Nut and weren't disappointed. The Nut can be seen from a long distance approaching Stanley and also from Highfield House and other parts within Stanley. We opted for the chairlift up to the top then the walk around the top which took about 45 minutes. A little windy and overcast... More

After 430m straight up hill, it is well worth the climb! The walk around the plateau offers great views, even on a cloudy day. There is also a chairlift for those unwilling to Facebook the climb.
