Visited this site in Stanley. The history of this site is very interesting. Starting with why and how this homestead and buildings were built by the convicts. The sad loss of one of the children of the original family adds to story.

We didn't go in the House itself but walked the gardens and viewed the outbuildings in the complex. A valuable historic site and asset worth the time to explore. Also great views of The Nut too from here.

We came down here in 2009, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Never was it open until in 2018. WOW. That was worth the wait. $12.00 to get in and worth every cent. An absolute must for all.

A must visit when you visit Stanley. The house shows the history of the earliest settlers of the area and the hardships they faced. Great views in all directions to photograph.

Stanley is one of my favourite places in Tasmania and this beautiful house and property is well worth the visit. Beautifully restored and yet so eerie it is not a place I would want to spend the night
