I had never visited Deer Creek and tried the hiking trails; they were honestly unimpressive although they did take you by the lake side. Not particularly long, challenging, or offering a rewarding view. I did not use the lodge or fish in the lake, however.

Very nice park within 45 minutes of Downtown Columbus. Nice walking trails and scenery. Lake levels are lower in winter as they use the dam as an actual flood control dam. Offers plenty of opportunities for recreation including hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, horseback riding and...More

My daughter takes our dog camping at Deer Creek every year for her birthday. She loves how shady and secluded her campsite is. The campground is not within walks NG distance to the water. Showers are centrally located and the campground is often booked full....More

In addition to the previous answer, you can also fish, rent a boat, and I think there is a gun range adjacent to the park.
