I expected much more. The prehistoric petroglyphs were drawn by early Native Americans thousands of years ago, but the site is very poorly maintained. There was an old newspaper covering up much of the line drawing, and there was no researched explanation of the site....More

I stopped at Leo petroglyph since it was signalled from US-35 and I needed a short break. The petroglyphs themselves are carved onto a large boulder and barely legible but have been painted over so visitors can better appreciated them. Unfortunately they aren't in great...More

When you've experienced awesome parks, like Petrogylphs National Park in Albuequerque, NM, it does kind of ruin your experience in a small state park like this. There was some graffiti around the petroglyphs. The park could definitely be better maintained. The hiking trails around the...More

Nice to see the Petroglyphs if you are in the area. I just wonder how old they are and what they were thinking when they made this. Interesting place.

This is a nice little area, but unfortunately it isn't well taken care of and people have vandalized some of the native american drawings. There's a nice little walking path, but again, it isn't well kept. This was once a wonderful area, and with some...More

We saw a sign so we followed it, travelling through a scenic area about 3 miles. We arrived to find some signage describing the petroglyphs. A trail led down through the gorge so we followed it hoping to find these ancient drawings. The trail was...More

The other reviews have said all there is to say. We had seen the sign for this place several times and finally made the trip to find them. It truly is out of the way, but a very nice setting. There did seem to be...More

It's interesting to see. Too bad that it's not better protected. Names are carved over them and debris stains some of the rock. More info about the natives who did the carving would be nice, too.

The natural setting is very nice and worth a stop for a short hike along cliffs and creek. We did it as a break from a long road trip. The petroglyphs are interesting, though hard to believe they are as old as the plaque claims...More

Tucked away in the countryside of Jackson county, this site, consisting of petroglyphs carved into a sandstone outcrop; is a beautiful memory of our native Americans. A beautiful short natural trail guides you thru the gorge and thru the park. Kid and pet friendly. Some...More
