Camping on the Racetrack

We didn't stay during a race, but we would like to! The KOA is right next to the racetrack, so you could watch the race right from your RV.

We had been working hard outside at our home and wanted a little drive and lunch. We had no idea that yesterday was the special lunch buffet. Brisket, okra, beans, salad, coleslaw, cornbread and a drink!! Nice surprise. We were too full to play the slots long but long enough I left $550.00 ahead!!!!

We stayed at the KOA campground that is part of the Will Rogers Downs horse track and Cherokee Casino complex. It was just an overnight stay for us and worked well with full hookups. This is not a campground with any amenities except for the track and casino. No store to speak of, and no shaded sites that I noticed.... More

My wife and I were traveling through on our way to St Louis. We were going to stay for 5 days but after 2 days we had enough... This KOA's # 1 rule on their list is, quiet hours from 10 pm to 7 am. That couldn't have been further from the truth. Our first night was spent with a... More

If you want options but still have small venue service and feel, then Will Rogers Downs is your place for comfort food and more! Great gambling venue with a country feel.

During race season, approximately 28 days, outstanding selection of horses racing. Also a Cherokee Casino operated year round. Decent food and drink offered.

It was great to see the horses run on Monday. Very exciting and fun to see the horses cross the finish line. I noticed they allow kids on the outside grounds to play and watch the races. Lots of different food there as well.

The road to the casino runs right through the campground, which is kind of annoying if you're tenting. The casino blasts music pretty much all night long, even when they're not open, which you can hear at the campsite. Never saw any staff so another nice camper had to give us the code to get into the bathrooms (which were... More

I enjoy the relaxed setting and the excellent viewing areas for the races. While the casino is always buzzing, the races attract fine horses and the events are spirited and memorable.
