This is an interesting museum, but there just isn't very much here that you couldn't simply read in a book. The museum doesn't do a great job of engaging the visitor, aside from the interesting library section, and really is mostly panels or items behind glass. This wouldn't be such an issue if the museum was also well lit, but... More

We were just having a road trip and decided to visit this museum at the spur of the moment. We were very glad we did! There were lots of things to see and learn about and even the old Carnegie library to rummage through. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this to anyone!

This museum provides a great overview of the history of the Oklahoma territory and early statehood. It has points of interest for small kids and adults. Don't miss stepping into the Carnegie Library. It's a beautiful space. It's fun to imagine having that building as your public library.

I cannot believe I had never noticed this little museum before! Although it is not large, you could easily spend hours looking at all the vintage labels, medications, and products. I went with children both times, and they were allowed to touch and interact with so much I the Pharmacy. My kids loved it the first time. The second time,... More

This is a small but well done museum of the history of Oklahoma. It is housed in the lower part of a Carnegie Library. Carnegie was a 19th century industrialist who donated his fortune to help improve American society, including the construction of a large number of free libraries across the country. This building is the first I have come... More

It takes about an hour or ninety minutes to read all the exhibits. They give discounts to seniors. Gift shop was really high. Guthrie had some neat Victorian homes to gaze at while driving downtown and in the residential areas.

This was a great little museum - easy to follow along, great word ratio (I get overwhelmed with big long pieces of text and tend to skip over stuff if there is too much crammed together). Staff was very friendly. It's cheap $4 for adults and the gift shop area was lacking (I love museums almost as much as I... More

If you are into OK history, you will love this museum. We are not natives and while we could have done without some of the history there was still a lot for non-Okies to appreciate. There are a couple of hands on things but not a ton for little ones. Staff was welcoming. Very cheap -- I think they should... More

This two story museum which is ADA accessible is full of interesting exhibits on the history of Oklahoma from 1889-1913 and also has a small gift shop. It is connected to the Carnegie Library, built in 1902-1903 which is also worth a visit while you are at the museum. There is detailed info on the 26 different tribes moved from... More

This is a place that should be honored and used a lot by people of all ages. It is filled with historical facts and pictures and items. We seem to have forgotten how rough the preceeding centuries were.
