When we're on vacation we try to find scenic byways. They're usually not as busy but offer spectacular scenery. Being from New England, we weren't sure what to expect along the Talimena Scenic Byway but we were very impressed. We drove this on a Sunday in early May and we only passed a handful of other cars. Lots of turnouts... More

This is a really beautiful scenic byway. There are lot of places where you can pullover and take couple of pictures. The best part is the drive through the hills. Well worth the time and effort

Recently revisited the drive. It was very rainy and so not up to previous visits. Kerr Nature Center was closed even though we had been assured at the Talahina ranger station that it was open. Definitely worth visiting and revisiting but there is limited visibility in rainy weather.

We made a spring break excursion to 3 Arkansas parks/areas and this was one area that we passed through. The drive was scenic but we were expecting more. I don't think we would go out of our way to make this drive again unless it was the path between other selected venues (which was the case on this trip). We... More

I thoughoghly enjoyed this most scenic drive. I came down from Tulsa on Saturday morning to get to the start of the road by midday. There were plenty of pull in places to take pictures and admire the vistas. I was surprised how high up the road goes and long too. It would have probably been better to do the... More

This is a lovely narrow and scenic road that wends its way through the Ouachita Forest. Beautiful views and a lots of pull outs to stop and enjoy it all. Well worth it!

My mom and I enjoyed a sunny day drive out to Queen Wilhelmina SP and enjoyed the vistas. The curving roads would be fabulous on a warm day in a convertible or on motorcycle. You can see for miles. I hope to come again when the trees have leaves. Very pretty terrain. There are no businesses in route up, so... More

If you are visiting in the area this is a great scenic drive for the day. It goes about 54 miles one way from Mena Arkansas to Talihina, Oklahoma. Take what you need for the drive because there are no stores, gasoline stations, or pit stops available along the drive. There are 25+ vistas or overlooks to stop for pictures.... More

We never get tired of seeing the foliage on the scenic drive. The Historical Pioneer site is unforgettable experience. The Sunset Point is always amazing to see the sun goes down.
