We took our RV to Lake Thunderbird this weekend. There aren't many RV sites on the Norman side. 50 amp sites are extremely hard to come by. The camp hosts was very nice though and once we did find a place it was pretty peaceful.

The lake looks good and has great facility for Campers and people with Boats. Biking trails are also good. Not a very friendly hiking trail. Good part is that they have a restroom at the beginning of the trail Overall the area is beautiful but...More

This park is clean with fairly easy access. Easy back in sites with shade and tree's. Our 3rd visit here and we are always lucky enough to get a lake side site. Excellent Satellite reception (DISH) and cell phone signal (AT&T). No antenna TV reception...More

Very dirty lake, but the fishing is pretty good and the bike trails are excellent on the east side of the lake.

This was our first visit to Oklahoma. The state park was nice, clean, and fairly roomy. We had a bad experience at a private RV park in town and this was great. The park roads and bathrooms could use a little work, but overall, a...More

Gone is the "Grill" the ONLY lakeside cafe on Thunderbird. Not much remains but boring picnic areas.

Dirty Bird...that's what the locals call it...is a good lake in central Oklahoma. It's not crystal clear. Quite the contrary, visibility underwater is about 3 inches. Nevertheless, fishing is not a problem (with a license) and the wet and dry camping areas are adequate. There...More
