Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Tulsa Zoo is small enough to be approachable but large enough to need more than one day to see it all!
The Zoo Train is a really fun experience with small kids. The carousel is a huge hit as well. The seal and sea lion show is very entertaining and educational.
The Zoo is clean, the animals seem to be well cared for, the staff all seem happy to be there, and the time there is a great balance of fun and learning.
Highly recommend.

The zoo is doing things differently with the virus issue. You have to get online to get appointment time and with limited people at that time. They keep you outside until your time and then you get a wristband and only have 3 hours to be in the park. They said that way no more than 600 people are in the park at a time.
The petting zoo is not open and only 2 buildings are open. Also the playground is not open. You can still buy food and drinks there. The staff is around to help you and the animals as still out.

First time visitor - nice zoo but some things should be improved upon. A few of the buildings were closed so we missed out on a number of animals. We got there when they opened so everything was clean and ready for visitors. Maps just inside gates are easy to read and help you decide what area you want to see first.
The souvenir cup is a good value and good prices aren’t crazy high. I purchased a salad from the grille (romaine, grape tomatoes, feta (I think), green onion and breaded chicken) - all was fresh but chicken should have been grilled not breaded as cold breaded chicken just was soggy. Also, only had Heinz ranch out on condiment station that was room temp and didn’t taste good. When I asked if they had any other dressing I was told they were out. Check dressing options before getting salad in case you can’t do dairy or just don’t do dairy. Size was good - it filled me up. I will come back just plan better and maybe bring my lunch and just have a snack in the zoo.
All employees I encountered were professional but not happy. One of the cooks noticed that someone knocked a large picture loose and went to fix it right away kudos to him for looking out for the guest!
The kids really loved the large playground!
The train is great as transport from one side of the zoo to the other but most of the time no one could hear about the animals or enclosures because the constantly was squeaking really loud! Needs to have some maintenance or grease.
All and all a good day!

I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to the Tulsa Zoo. I haven't been to the Tulsa Zoo in a long while and I was really glad to see that many animals were on display. By far my favorite areas of the Tulsa Zoo was the new Asia exhibit and their Rainforest exhibit. My only minor gripe is that I wish the temperature was a tad warmer like around 70 or so, but overall, my gf and I truly enjoyed our time at the Tulsa Zoo. Definitely going to be revisiting this zoo when it's warmer outside.

We have visited this zoo many times over the years and enjoyed it every time. We always buy train tickets. Who doesn't love trains? The newer exhibits are nicely done but the bear exhibit is long overdue for a makeover. We always make time to visit the African Penguin exhibit, the Rhino Reserve, the Sea Lion cove, the Rain Forest, the Lost Kingdom and the Aldabra Tortoises. But if you have three hours to spend there is no reason to miss any of the habitats. This is a very family friendly zoo with many interactive exhibits, picnic tables, a huge playground and a petting zoo. Kids always seem to be having a great time at the Tulsa zoo. So do their parents and grandparents. Keep your expectations realistic, this is not a big city zoo. But there are plenty of things to see and do and at the current price of $14 it is an entertainment bargain.

This is a well operated zoo. The animals seem well cared for and provide educational opportunities for all age groups. The zoo is beautifully laid out with always the animals and guests in mind. I found the people working there friendly. The zoo has concessions or one can take picnic items into the zoo.
Also the zoo is handicapped accessible

This is a great Zoo. I reviewed almost a hundred zoos and this is one of the exceptional ones. This is very clean and very well-maintained. The people that work here are all very friendly. Parking is free. They do Embrace social distancing and the use of face mask is required. However only about 20% of people maybe 30 actually used a face mask. So it is not enforced. They have the most amazing tiger exhibit in the themed area which kind of looks like temples are from the Asian historical Old City. This dude does have a train and the Carousel and plenty of little play areas for the kids. Oh yeah and camel rides too. They have all the major animals including lions tigers bears elephants and giraffes. They have a huge Rhino exhibit which is one of the best ones I've seen. So if you really like rhinos or you really like tigers this zoo is for you. I wasn't too thrilled with the giraffe exhibit is there wasn't much shade out in their yard. They do have a nice area called the Trek which has a few buildings all with different themes including the desert the forest and water. Seals and sea lions exhibit was pretty cool. This is a good-sized zoo and the picnicking possibilities here are one of the biggest that I've seen. There's lakes and streams and stuff which make it really nice add to the ambience. I would really recommend this Zoo.

This zoo is deceptively large and is extremely well designed and pleasant to walk around in. They have an extremely wonderful variety of animals. I was quite impressed with this zoo. The grounds are beautiful and if you have younger children, there’s a very nice playground at one end. There is also a nice train ride that goes around the zoo. All the exhibits were well designed and I felt the animals had plenty of space to move around. I don’t think one thinks of Tulsa when one thinks of world class zoos but I was quite impressed with this one.

There's plenty to see and do at this zoo. It will entertain the smallest children, while keeping the interest of teenagers. The price is fair and relatively inexpensive. Very clean and well maintained. It's a good afternoon trip. You won't be able to stay most of the day, like in a big city zoo, such as St. Louis, but this is well worth a few hours!

We normally love this zoo. Unfortunately this trip, ended on a bad note. My son is very sensitive and loves animals. We ended up at the buildings last. Nowhere is it listed that the buildings close at 4:30 or we would have started there. We were in the last one and my son had really been looking to seeing the fox. He said it would make up for some other exhibit they didn’t have at the time. We were in the cold building and the lady asked us to leave because they close the buildings at 4:30, even though the zoo closes at 5. She was very firm and almost used her body as a shield so people couldn’t go past her, even though we were already halfway through the building. She wouldn’t allow us to finish. My son was so disappointed that he cried. I am not a fan of this type of customer service. We payed for the entire experience. It’s not my issue she wanted to go home.
