We were very fortunate to be there on an almost cloudless January morning. We will now have photographs and memories that will last a lifetime of the early morning light over a turbulent ocean with the magnificent rock formations that Cannon Beach is known for.

Ecola State Park stretches along 9 miles of stunning Oregon coastline. The narrow entrance road snakes through the spruce forest, eventually reaching the parking lot where you will need to pay $5 for a day pass. Ecola’s hiking trails offer cliff side ocean views including...More

Ecola State Park is a beautiful area just north of Cannon Beach. If you want a nice hike through some sections of old growth forest take the Clatsop Trail north from Indian Beach up to the hiker's camp then return along the coast back down...More

We visited in search of whales that had been seen the day before but missed them. It’s a beautiful park to drive through (we didn’t hike as many trails were closed from land slides). Day pass was only $5 . The Pioneer Beach was a...More

Heaven on Earth! A must see! The drive there is not bad at all! I traveled 2,500 miles in order to see it.

The day we visited the winds were so stiff it was hard to walk against it so our visit was limited. Despite the weather, the view, which was all we got to enjoy, was worth it. A great vantage point for viewing the haystack rock...More

We hiked the Clatsop Loop Trail and it was beautiful! Fairly easy hike, but the rain makes it muddy in a few areas. It was fun watching the surfers in the bay area after the hike. This one is not to be missed.

Personally, I don't know but the state park brochure mentions camping. I read in the park brochure there is primitive hiker's camp at the northern point of Ecola State Park near Bird Point.
