About
We have taken the traditional hardware experience to a whole new level. While waiting for your Cajun tater tots and house smoked pastrami Reuben, grab an ice cold micro brew and peruse our vast selection of hardware, including but not limited to, garden tools, paint supplies, camping and sports gear, electrical, and plumbing. Whether you’re about to patch some drywall, crave a burger, need a key cut, or ready for a margarita (or ALL OF THE ABOVE!), we are your go-to place. Come hungry; leave full, happy, AND with a bag of nails.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So I'd read about this place that was a hardware store by day and bar by night. I really didn't want to believe it. I almost didn't notice it driving by. There was a sign that read Screw and Brew so I felt the urge to stop. Thank goodness I did! Turns out they've expanded and serve lunch and dinner regularly. Guess what? There really is a hardware section. Hilarious! We had already eaten, but couldn't pass up having a beer at this place. They don't brew their own, but do serve some pretty impressive options. Beer usually requires some sort of munchy, so we got the homemade chips and salsa. Yuuuuummmmm! I left with a satisfied palate and a hoodie. Well worth the stop!

We had halibut tacos and a patty melt tonight at what we fondly call "the Screw and Brew." Fish was naked (no breading) and perfectly cooked. Pico was spicy, just right. Patty melt had carmelized onions and a perfectly cooked meat patty. Porter was richly delicious. Service was fast, friendly, expert.

I kept hearing about how the hardware store had a great restaurant, and they do! Even though this place is very dog friendly with a front porch outside for them to be, it was a rainy March weekend, so I opted for a to-go order. We had the Ecola Burgers, which had thick slices of Tillamook cheese which was delicious. Good prices, good food, and the waitress was super friendly. I would highly recommend your next Cannon Beach meal to try the hardware store! If you cannot find parking right in front of the store, there is public parking right next door to the building.

We ordered takeout for the first night in town. It was close to where we were staying and we wanted something quicker. My wife ordered the halibut burger and I ordered prawns/chips. Order was ready pretty quickly. The food was good but they gave fish instead of prawns. Besides napkins nothing else was given so if you need utensils ask for them. It was typical pub fare and pricey for that but it is touristy town.

After finding this really cool place my husband and I were excited to give it a try. We ordered our beers (which were great) and started the waiting game. We waited and waited and waited until finally getting our order taken. Then the waiting game started again. We waited over an hour and half before getting so frustrated and so hungry that we ended up leaving.

If you decide to visit this place be sure that you have time to spare and are not hungry when you get there.

The idea of combining a restaurant with a hardware store is unique but we sure paid for the privilege of eating there. The food was certainly not unique and, while not bad, it was pretty average. However, the menu prices were extremely high and despite the unusual atmosphere, it wasn't worth it.

We were told that this place has the best fish and chips in town. The restaurant is what I am reviewing and is named screw and brew. The price is quite high, considering there is really no atmosphere....the restaurant is literally in the middle of a hardware store. The service was not that good either. We later tried mo's, which is directly on the beach and has fantastic views. The fish and chips were a fraction of the price and included a salad as well. The Screw and Brew charged an extra $4 for their salad, bringing the price of the fried dish up to $24, compared to $14 at Mos, which as I mentioned, has a great atmosphere. I will not return to the Screw and Brew given the high prices they are charging.

Better known as "Screw and Brew" we stopped by to have a Bloody Mary and stayed for lunch. Great cocktails, beer and the best fried cod we had in Oregon! Fun staff and great atmosphere. We were only sorry that we didn't have time to make it back there.

What a fun place, a working hardware store that serves up brews and burgers. Fun place for both out of towners and locals. Be sure to grab a tshirt or hat for the memory! Just ask for Dave (5 of the 15 employees are named Dave)!

We spent a couple of days in CB earlier this month & several locals told us about this place. Yes, you'll pass several fancier restaurants & may walk in, like us, & think 'Really?', as when you walk in you'll see the place isn't very big & it seems busy with locals. However, that was another good sign for us & we found a table in their outside courtyard. The menu is varied enough & the salads, burgers, & fish were fresh & really great. Those eating around us seemed very pleased with their orders as well. And back to the fish - the fish & chips were some of the best that I've ever had; I'd put them up against anyone! Beer selection is good too, & the sangria (we're from Tx, so we know) was very good. All in all, a great food experience along with a friendly, attentive staff.
