November and December, the parks light up with>350.000 Christmas lights. Quite the display. There is a little house that serves free cider and cookies. To get into the park takes $5. Plan to get there right before dark so you won't have to wait in line to park. This line can get very very very long!!!

Go between Thanksgiving and New Years to see wonderful Christmas lights. Walk all over and see tons!! Perfect for families with kids or couples. When you are done, there is a caretaker's cottage and they offer cookies and cider or hot chocolate. Perfect for afterwards as it is usually pretty chilly in this part of the country!!

The Friends of Shore Acres have flipped the switch and voila 300,000 lights brighten the manicured English gardens at Shore Acres State Park. This multi-colored light show includes a frog hopping across a pond and a whale jumping from the sea, flying pelicans, and lots more. The display is open from 4 to 9:30 p.m. nightly until Dec. 31. A... More

I don't want to share my review because I want to keep Shore Acres a local favorite and not necessarily allow a lot of visitors in. Yes, I'm a bit spoiled. Shore Acres (and the surrounding parks) has been a part of my life since I was born. I know of no other place on the Oregon coast where you... More

Have never visited this state park, preferring to go to Cape Arago or Sunset View for the hiking, but read about the Holiday lights extravaganza and decided to stop. Wow!, Wow! and Wow! again. Arriving there a little before sunset we decided to walk around. First there was the sound and water show, as waves from an ocean storm pounded... More

We found this place in the Oregon Visitors Guide we picked up at a Welcome Center. We went out of our way to go there because it looked so nice in the guide. We were not disappointed. There are walking trails, gardens, ocean views and a lot of history to be taken in. Make the trip and enjoy the park.

One of my favorite places on the coast. The gardens are amazing. The history is rich and the views are astounding. Whales and sea lions in the summer, storms and fewer sea lions in winter, Camp @ Sunset Bay and spend time exploring. Don't forget rain gear. Enjoy!

Went here while camping nearby and this was quite a pleasant discovery. The grounds of this park are spectacular...the gardens were amazing even in deeply foggy weather and the views of the ocean are unique and beautiful. A must see in this area!
