My wife and I went to the Shen Yun performance, we left at Intermission. The seating is so small and narrow it's absurd to think someone can enjoy any show in it, unless you are a 21-year-old weigh 150 Lbs. Even when people needed to get by you to their seats, you would stand up and have NOWHERE to move, I have never been at any venue where you couldn't stand up to let someone by you and not be able to move back a little. Also as much as they tell people to be on time or the doors will close so the show can start, wrong, people kept being let in over and over again. Many of the people were obviously an "Older" crowd, myself included and were on walkers or hand canes, and I and my wife have had major injuries to our knees, back shoulders, forget it. Even though the show was good (ok) how do you enjoy it when you can't move your knees forward, your arms to the side or really ANYWHERE, your like a Butterfly Cocoon. I would not go to this place to see any event it is that restrictive and bad, let's put it in perspective...I would rather sit on a Southwest Airlines' plane seat then sit in this place. We left at first intermission, and I saw people grabbing and holding their back and their hips, really disgusting that it's all about the people who own these places and their freaking money. Take out a couple seats in each row, just a warning it's pretty dam hard to enjoy a show in which you have paid several hundred dollars for a ticket and are in pain after 10 minutes. What a joke of a place that would have seating like this and think it is a great place to go, it is NOT PERIOD

My wife and I purchased tickets to see Hamilton at the Hult Center. Two days before the performance my wife tested positive for Covid. I had purchased ticket protect so I contacted the box office and was told that if I had a positive Covid test to send them a picture of the result and they would take care of the refund with ticket protect. I gave on of the tickets to a friend and sent the email as instructed to the box office. I heard nothing until the day after the performance and then received an email the my email didn’t go through. The message said that it was a problem on the Hult Center side and that it would be resent for the next 45 hours. I tried to contact ticket protect directly and the web site would not open for a refund at all. If you purchase tickets to a performance at the Hult Center when the money changes hands it is gone. Don’t purchase ticket protect because it is worthless.
I will tell you the my friend said the Hamilton show was outstanding and she enjoyed it very much. It’s a shame the Hult Center doesn’t care about the patrons. It seems they are only interested in bringing in as much money as possible.

Altnough the show was outstanding, leaving the venue was a nightmare. Only one elevator is available on the mezzene were many accessible seats are located. Able patrons from upper floors crammed the elevator so those needing theaccessibility of the elevator where out if luck. After waiting for at least 25 minutes,we finally ad to escort our post stoke family member slowly down the stairs while her foot was in fullspasm.Several other mobility challenged patrons were also left. Stafff in the elevator were culuuless and gutless. ruined the whole day.

The main venue for touring Broadway shows, concerts, local performances. Most seats have a good view. Nice acoustics. Decent concessions with 5-6 selections of local Oregon wines. Fairly easy to park for about $5-10 in the parking garage. A bit of a long walk and stairs if you have mobility issues. The crown is dressed down in general.

Unless you are sitting on the orchestra level or box seats on the side you are SCREWED.
I'm 5'6 and in the upper decks my knees are pressed solid against the seat in front. If anyone has to leave, consider yourself tea bagged or worse. Then there's the tilt. I have been on roller coasters that had less decline, you have vertigo the whole time. Steps are short and tricky.
Prices are ridiculous. Sound is okay, but don't hope to see anyone on stage without a telescope.
I've been there for graduation and they were dots. I have been there for a comedy show and you got the gist of the actors. When on orchestra level for a play it was fine. Prices change per performance. If you have the money and want to see the act, go Orchestra. If you have any legs try the box seats on the side, if you weigh less than 50 pounds and don't care, sit up in the slant seats. Ushers are really nice, adequate underground parking, but beware of those awful upper deck seats. DISABLED beware. Overweight beware.

Hi Cindy, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we really do value your feedback! We want to take the time to clear up a few misconceptions and be sure you have the right info about productions here. The Hult Center does not set prices for shows that come through and rent our venue. Each show determines what price it needs to set for tickets in order to break-even and make a profit, which is why prices are different for every performance. Obviously the quality of sound and visibility by seat is a matter of opinion, so we don’t want to try and argue against what you’ve said, but more to comment that our Ticket Office is a great resource when it comes to purchasing a seat. Not all the seats are the same width, so if anyone should need a little more room, our Ticket Office staff can help determine the best seat. Likewise, seats in different locations have different amounts of legroom. We have patrons of all shapes and sizes that come here and have a comfortable experience, and we want that to be the case for you as well. The upper balconies are quite steep and many who have fear of heights choose not to sit up at the top. On the other hand, we have patrons who prefer to sit up as high as they can get. We did install extra handrails over the summer for extra safety and comfort. Thank you again for your review. – Hult Center Staff

i want to give it a better rating as it is one of the only venues of its kind in southern oregon and i appreciate the events that are offered here! the lobby is nice and the auditorium is attractive. however, the seating is just very cramped and uncomfortable. if you are talled than 5'8" and/or at all overweight, (or in my case, both of these AND a bad hip- that cramps up every time for lack of room to stretch) then you will feel like a sardine!
we have attended several times and each time i am just so disappointed in the seating. this last time we splurged on box seats! unfortunately, the front row of chairs, albeit roomier than the theater seats in width, are cramped right up to the balcony so there is still no leg room. the back row of seats on the end boxes (we were in box D) have a lot of leg room, however, the ENTIRE BOX had a terrible, terrible view of the stage!
this is true of all the boxes however, this particular box, during this particular show (carmen, feb 2015) was just awful. a ton of action was happening out of our sight and everyone had to strain necks just to see mid stage.
adding insult to injury, there was only ONE way for the bottom row guests to enter and they seating two couples LATE requiring us to awkwardly shuffle out TWICE to let them sit (what are all those ushers for? why seat late comers before a scene change??) because not only is it a one way deal, but it is so incredibly cramped that my husband and i had to practically leave the box before the others could file in. twice. and again with one of the couples during intermission!
box seats are quite pricey and i feel like a venue should NOT sell seats that dont have full views, or at the very least they should be discounted and come with a warning!! they could have even just not sold those boxes for this production since the view would be obscured.
but again, all the seats are cramped. its also a bit cheesy that you have to pay special event parking prices...

Thank you so much for your feedback. It's great to hear you enjoy the events we host!
We're so sorry to hear that the seating did not meet your expectations last weekend. Our ushers work hard to mitigate late arrivals, but sometimes they slip through the cracks and we do offer our sincerest apologies for that.
Not every seat in the house is the same; some have more legroom and there are three different seat widths and even seats with drop arms. Our box office staff has all the knowledge and tips about this. If you ever have questions about the best seats for the sights and sounds of a particular performance or which part of the hall might be most comfortable for you. Don't be afraid to speak up or make a request--it's our pleasure to serve!
We hope you join us again for a future event, and if you do, please stop by or call the box office at 541-682-5000 so we can recommend the perfect seats for you.

We just saw 'Wicked' at the Hult Center and really enjoyed it. The sound quality was outstanding, which I imagine is due in part to the unique woven-looking design of the wall/ceiling panels (fair warning: if you're in the balconies, it's pretty steep looking down and that combined with the ceiling design has an almost dizzying effect, though it's fine when the lights are off). It was a hot day outside and we'd just walked from our hotel, but the lobby and stairways were both incredibly hot. The concert hall itself was cool and air-conditioned though so that was a welcome respite.
The seats (at least in the balconies, I can't speak for anywhere else) are all pretty close together so there's not much leg room, but we were there for a weekday matinee show so the row in front of us was completely empty and we had a little more room to stretch out.
I would definitely go see more shows here. Our seats in the lower balcony weren't bad at all (the stage actually seemed closer than it looks in the picture) but I'd be curious to see how the view from the mezzanine level is.

We have now attended two concerts at the Hult Center - one accoustic and one full on rock show. Both styles were completely amazing for sound and view of the shows. The architecture is so modern and sleek, and the various levels of seating are fairly easy to access. After attending concerts in a number of venues, this one stands out as one of the best. There are nearby parking structures to facilitate event needs.

We've seen lots of events over the years at the Hult Center as well as other venues across the country/world.
The Hult Center has to be near the top of anyone's list.
So well designed, it has stood the test of time.
Hamilton would be so awesome here!

This place is a huge rip off. Drinks are extremely overpriced. The ushers escort you to the wrong seats. Bathrooms are dirty, and not maintained very well. The seats are uncomfortable at best. It's time to demolish this "has been" place. That won't happen, I know, so the best that can be accomplished is using the greed money and revamp this place with new seats that have some leg room, and are comfortable enough to be sat in for a performance. In the mean time, I won't be back there for anything. Time for a road trip to Portland.

In the past, I have parked over in the Columbia Bank parking lot for shows at the Hult. Is this still okay, or will they have me towed?
Written 16 May 2019
We used their parking garage and because we have handicap parking, we straight to the 3rd level where the handicap parking is directly across from the elevator. No fuss no muss, easy a can be. People were polite about letting out. We are just not able to walk that " short" distance anymore.

What is the hotel in walking distance from the Hult?

Where is the best place to park around this venue? Thanks!

The parking garage adjacent to the Hult Center off Olive Street is available for $6 event parking. Street parking in downtown Eugene is often free after 6pm, just give yourself enough time to search.
