Great little hike with beautiful views. The recreation/parking area was also worthwhile. If you would like to see inside the lighthouse, check tour times before you go. This area is connected to some nice hiking trails (including the Hobbit trail) Not a bad idea to...More

We visit the Oregon Coast every Easter and this is our second time visiting Heceta Head. I haven’t toured inside her, but we’ve been inside her twin, Umpqua River Lighthouse. The grounds are just as gorgeous as the lighthouse. It has a first order Fresnel...More

The Haceta Lighthouse is a great stop on the Oregon Coast. From the parking lot (cost for parking- $5 in March 2018), there is a beautiful 1/2 mile walk slightly uphill to the lighthouse. The walk is through the forest, with sea views- it is...More

We spent a morning visiting the beach and the lighthouse. I enjoy the ambience of lighthouses on the coast, but I'm not a lighthouse enthusiast. Mostly, since lighthouses sit high up on bluffs overlooking the ocean, they are good places for views. Heceta Head (take...More

Except for Haystock Rock at Cannon Beach, Heceta Head Lighthouse is perhaps the most iconic image of the Oregon Coast, appearing on countless calendars, coffee mugs and t-shirts. It's well worth seeing in person, despite the short walk from the parking lot--a glimpse at how...More

As you drive along Hwy 101, you get many views of this beautiful well kept lighthouse. We enjoyed having an up close view, but unfortunately the weather turned and our visit was cut short. The view over looking the ocean from the. Lighthouse is breathe...More

I visited this old light on Saturday 3-18-18 and enjoyed the old growth forested hillside with its easy trail ascent. Info kiosks along the way about the lighthouse, staffs way-of-life back then, and construction via boat and wagon were interesting. It would be nice if...More

Good short walk up to the lighthouse. Gift shop was closed, but you could see last season’s stock through the open door as maintenance did their thing. Lighthouse photogenic, lighthouse keeper’s cottage also worth a look. Trails round the headland for the active, and good...More

A nice little stroll up past the lightkeeper's house and beautiful lighthouse. The bridge near the parking lot is also an interesting structural study from below. Nominal fee.

There is a parking lot. The exit from Hwy. 101 is well marked. Park in the lot (restrooms and picnic area available) and walk the path up to the lighthouse. Both the lighthouse keeper's house and the actual lighthouse are... More
