Go! Short hike, gorgeous views and beach! Lots of sea lions in the water surfing. Quick drive from Florence and close to Sea Lion Cave.

The walk from the parking lot is not for the faint of heart. Don't try to rush, just enjoy the hike and the views as you climb to the top where the lighthouse is located. Once there you will be glad you took the time and put in the effort for the wonderful view and also the history of the... More

We spent a couple hours just walking around, taking pictures, enjoying the views, and watching for whales and sea lions. Take some time and relax, and take in the views. We saw several whales out quite a distance, but none-the-less exciting to see. The sound of hundreds of sea lions could be heard down the road a ways. Make sure... More

We got there in the afternoon to watch the sunset. It is quite a hike to the lighthouse itself but it offers a really nice view and the sunset is awesome from there.

The Heceta Head Lighthouse offers so much. Beautiful vista, hiking for every level, beach fun, picnicking, gift shop and even if you plan, a B&B on site. Wow!

If you're after stunning views and an iconic lighthouse look no further, there is even a bed-and-breakfast in the old lighthouse keeper's cottage! This is my favourite Oregon lighthouse (narrowly ahead of those at Cape Meares and Cape Blanco) - particularly recommended are the tours and also a walk up through the woods which takes you above the lighthouse......the views... We visited the Heceta Head Lighthouse while in Florence. It's beautiful and has so much history. We took one of their daily tours and it was so informative. We went to take pictures of a beautiful lighthouse and left understanding what's so special about it. Be sure to climb the hill above the lighthouse if you want a great picture... More

Went on a sunny, warm summer day. Beautiful, breathtaking views! The lighthouse is a ways up the trail so it is a bit of a hike, up hill to get there, but so peaceful and beautiful once there!
