Good beach for beach-combing, dog-walking, viewing the scenery, or wave-jumping. Easy access from 101. Dogs are supposed to be on leash, but most weren't.

Try early morning with the tide out or going out. Calm days with sun are my favorite but windy days cause spectacular wave action on Heceta Head. If you want a less crowded beach go a few miles north to the Forest Service Picnic site....More

Great open expanse of gorgeous beach. Wonderfully scenic and quite photogenic. Great ocean views. It can get pretty windy here through so travel with many layers to stay warm...even in summer.

I made the hike from the beach to the lighthouse, well worth it, and not overly strenuous. Most ages could make it. Not a good beach for swimming, but a picnic area is available.

You do need a parking pass here but well worth it. The beach sits under a huge old bridge (101), and the beach is a short walk from the parking lot. There are natural 'caves' which are fun for picture opportunities. The lighthouse is a...More

We spent 3 hours on the beach. It is gorgeous, it was warm, and the kids had a ball. We took the lighthouse tour as well. A favorite I will return to time and again.

Such a great view, I've lived in the NW all my life and never made it to the coast of Oregon. So nice. Just bring a wind breaker, I don't think it ever stopped blowing the week we were there. Also cover your camera gear...More

Extremly easy access to the beach, no big hills, or stairs. Lots of space to spread out as the beach is flat for miles around, and there isn't a large drop off into the ocean so it makes it possible to play in the waves....More

We stopped at a roadside turnout overlooking the beach. We could hear the seals before we saw them. The scenery in this area is spectacular.
