Not the same........shopping was not the same in the Christmas Shop. Not sure we are going to go back and we live right down the road.

This has been standard destination for the last four years or so. The wine continues to be of first quality and the staff most knowledgeable and helpful about their subject. This year they had free pies. As usual, I spent more than I had intended. Chuckles.

Good winery, although nothing special. A couple of good wines although expensive to buy. Funny Christmas shop in the back. Not the most friendly staff member doing the tasting...

We stopped by Shafer Vineyards this past Saturday after tasting at Tualatin Vineyards, on our way to Montinore Vineyards. The setting is beautiful with rolling forested hills and vineyards. The tasting room is rustic and small but the wine glasses they serve their tastings in are very, very small, making it very difficult to swirl the one. It was very... More

Visited over the Memorial Day weekend; first day under new and eager owners. Not to worry, the Christmas shop is still there (and we did buy an ornament). We tasted 5 wines and ended up buying a bottle which we took back to our hotel. We also ordered a cheese plate, which was oh my gosh just wonderful. Took our... More

We tasted several wines here..bought 4 of them! Miki, the owner and wine maker, is delightful and has so much information and experience to share. Couldn't resist also buying a Christmas ornament from her amazing and well stocked shop. We had a little picnic on the front porch with a little wine to boot and enjoyed it immensly. We will... Nice, friendly winery. I've been to wineries in California and the Midwest. I am not a huge wine drinker, so I couldn't tell you how the wine ranks. My opinion is its good the Christmas holiday wine is very tasty. Light, sweet and the spices used makes it a nice speciality wine. The people and owner of the winery are... More

As the owner of an internet chat group, I had the occasion to visit Shafer Vineyard as a part of a group function. Miki Shafer was more than cordial. She welcomed us with open arms and personally gave us a guided tour of the facility. Her product, in my opinion, is without compare ! Keep up the good work Shafer... More

Fabulous wines - not a wine drinker but loved the 2014 Autumn Harvest Riesling. The have a unique Holiday Magic wine that's bright red & very popular, a big Christmas gift shop and an Owner, Miki, who's the life of the party! Beautiful views and great place to visit.

Not only does Shafer Vineyards produce some of the finest wines in Oregon (and that's saying a LOT!), but the experience of visiting the Cellar ranks among one of the top "attractions" in a state overflowing with sight-seeing options. Yes, the wine is exceptional. Yes, the year-round Christmas store is fun and uplifting, and, yes, the food and wine-tasting astounds... More
