We have been watching this boat deteriorate a little more from our last visit we always come by to take picture of it.

This boat sunk and they brought it back to the top of the rogue river which is why it’s full of algae. Very ugly but it has historical value for the town of gold beach, Oregon.

Wouldn’t go out of my way to see it. Kinda cool but all you do it stand there and look at it. Good for a photo opportunity and then move on.

The sea is about to reclaim the Mary D Hume for good. It is now just a run down piece of garbage sitting in the bay.

Living in the southwest, I have come to love ghost towns, pieces of history left behind in places people no longer visit. This old ship had quite a life and even though efforts to restore her were thwarted, she still lives on.

This 96 foot old girl us just so forlorn as she sits covered in moss and rubbish. Although the local authority has a story and memorial to this old relic, it really needs a marine group to stand up and give her some dignity

We have visited this site several times over the years. The history of this ship is very interesting and is told via a nice display. We take a photo each visit and compare it to the previous ones to see how the ship has changed/decayed....More

After watching the video at the museum at Jerry's Rogue River boats about the Mary D Hume, we wish it could have been restored and preserved.

This is an interesting historical stop with shops nearby off the same large parking lot. Signs give the history of the freighter/whaler/tugboat, as well as other local history. It’s worth a quick stop.
