Amazing view on Mt Hood, beautiful nature, perfect for kayaking or camping. We only were passing by, so didn't spend much time there and the weather wasn't friendly, but it was a nice stop. Though quite far from Portland where we were staying.

We rented snow shoes in Government Camp for a hike to Trillium Lake in early April. The trail could have been done in hiking boots because at this time, the snow was mostly tramped down but there are places where the snow shoes really made a difference and there was no way to know in advance what the whole trail... Trillium Lake is one of those little gems you can find on Mt. Hood. It is fun for water play in the summer. You can swim, kayak, SUP or just mess around on a mattress. There is a nice campground on site as well. There is an easy walking trail around the entire lake where you can hike in the... More

We joined a couple of friends for a snow shoe trek around the Trillium Lake XC Ski Loop. Trail is clearly marked: one side for skiers the other for trekking. It is a magical trip though a snow covered forest that surrounds a beautiful alpine lake on gently rolling terrain. Total trip is 4.4 miles from the parking area just... More

We took a weekend to come out to the Portland area. We had a very peaceful hike in the snow to Trillium Lake.

We had gone to Mt. Hood and totally enjoyed our day. Coming done and heading back to the hotel we saw a sign and made the detour. It was well worth it. What a beautiful, quit, restful spot. There are some picnic tables, there is of course hiking on the trails and fishing which a couple of people where doing on our visit.

This place is absolutely beautiful - clear water that reflects nearby Mt Hood. Great fishing (most days). But overrun like a hotel swimming pool when the weather is nice. If you wish tranquility you will need to hike into alpine lakes.

Great place to just chill out and fully relax. Nice, clean campground that is very family friendly. We love to go with our grandchildren and niece and her family. We always have a great time. The fishing is pretty good too.

An easy drive up the mountain and you're in heaven! The lake is amazing. You can hike around it, go swimming, bring a lunch and eat at the picnic tables, or even camp out. Easily at least a day's worth of fun and probably more.
