My wife and I went on a tour with Marie and she was great! We were lucky enough to find and opening while visiting the area for a friend's wedding in Oregon. We let Marie know our taste preferences and she did the rest! We had a great time and she set up several visits to different wineries/vineyards to give... More

The two of us had the pleasure of a tour run by the delightful Marie Gunton. Booking and working out arrangements with her and Fred (phone and e-mail) were seamless. She met us early at the B&B and, like the rest of the day, Marie treated us like friends, not patrons. Her knowledge of wines - not just Oregon's -... More

My husband and I contacted A Nose for Wines hoping they had availability for our whirlwind trip thru the Willamette Valley. We were thrilled when they had one spot to accommodate our last minute planning. Marie picked up at our hotel (which she graciously helped us select in advance) and quickly sought to develop a perfectly customized itinerary based upon... More

We decided to book a private wine tour with Fred the owner of A Nose for Wine Tours and it far surpassed our expectations. Fred is extremely knowledgable about wine and the Willamette Valley. I highly recommend this tour as we were brought to boutique and award winning vineyards. My girlfriend and I were introduced to wines from Pinots to... More

My wife and I booked a trip with "A Nose For Wine Tours" because we had no idea where to go and we wanted to be safe. I am so glad that we chose to use this company. It was easy to set up a reservation via e-mail. On the day of our tour, our guide "Marie" knocked at our... More

People know Portland Oregon as a city with wonderful food and unique restaurants. And just outside of Portland in the wonderful wine country of Willamette Valley is another treasure, “Nose for Wine” with your hosts Fred and Marie Gunton. First let me tell you what this is not. If you want to cram in as many wine tastings (?) as... More

Fred is one of the most knowledgeable wine tour guides I have ever met. He is polite, courteous and has a wonderful sense of humor. There is not much that he does not know when it comes to wines. I strongly recommend you contact him as far in in advance of your tour as you can. Share your wine-knowledge level... More

You make me blush~...Thank YOU for the kind words. The day WAS an "adventure" and together we made it work. And Bravo...for getting up early the next day to view the valley's beauty from "up near the clouds." It was my pleasure in assisting you to find some rare and hard to find Pinot. The treasure awaits..enjoy and have a... More

There were five of us doing the tour as part of a family reunion. Fred was informative, helpful but informal and entertaining. He answered our questions but was not intrusive. Four gorgeous wineries: Elk Grove, Fairsing, Arborbrook, and Trisaetum....Fred was also helpful in arranging shipment of our purchases home including picking up some wine later from our hotel. Hard to... More

I can't say enough about Fred and this tour. The experience started well before we ever met. Fred really wanted to know what kind of wine drinkers we were, what we liked to drink and who we wanted to see. This is no "canned" tour, Fred will customized everything to your taste. We are very experience wine collectors and we... More

We had a truly amazing experience with Marie and A Nose For Wine! She handcrafted an incredible tour for us. Her expansive knowledge of wine, the Willamette valley and the specific wineries was approachable, helpful and didactic. Her relationships with the wineries also made our experience more insightful. After a few tastings, she was able to discern not only what... More
