Spinreel made our rental experience easy and enjoyable. One thing I didn't know was that some rental places charge you for broken belts. If the person before you rode the equipment hard, you might be the one to end up with a broken belt. Spinreel...More

Operated by friendly locals who respect the dunes while helping you have a good time. We selected the guided tour, which was more our speed and enabled us to stop and hear descriptions of the dunes, local ecology, and sites. Well worth the time and...More

I drove a four-seater vehicle and was required to have a full drivers licence. My 10yo, however, was given a quad to ride on his own (under parental supervision, of course). I'm not certain that fully answers your question... More

We're planning to visit on July 5th with my wife and daughters aged 18 and 12 and son aged 15. We're trying to work out the best configuration. We'll have about 1.5 to 2 hours to visit. So, is the tour just a guided trip on the dunes vs. doing it on your own? Or, do they take you to unique places and provide information about the area that you wouldn't get on your own? My wife's not so sure she interested in having some one just ride her around the dunes. Are the number of people on the dunes at one time controlled at all? I'm a bit concerned about the danger of running into others or being hit by others if there is a large crowd. I realize July 4th weekend isn't the ideal time for the lowest crowds. Do the quads have governors on them to limit speed? Are there people on the dunes who bring their own vehicles? Thanks!
